did start playing today. gonna hoard for Fran of course. if I wanted a peak Fran is there a number of gems/tickets you think I should aim for? need to balance making a viable team now with hoarding enough for best bunny girl later


also are there any banners up now that would be really good for a beginner? any events I should be focusing on?

Unfortunately the ch. 11 co-op event is locked behind ch. 11 (which I still think is stupid and fucks over new players), so you'll only be able to do Zack (which you should do asap just to at least pick up Zack and his armor/15 weapon, can try co-op for the stages to be able to get carried for the clear, it expires in 5 hrs).

For Fran 15/35, I'd say roughly 40-60k gems to have a good shot at her 35 (her 15 weapon is free from her event), so you got PLENTY of time/gems to save for her.

I'd say do a few pulls on Shanty EX banner, Yuna/Rem/Vaan are REALLY good for now, don't pull on Zack banner, it has the old 5% 5* rates. Do the half pull for Cloud/shantotto/Edgar, it'll allow you to get some cheap 15/35s.

Like I mentioned, Zack should be priority 1 simply because his event ends in 5 hrs. Post your friend code and people will add you and you can do co-op with friends and we should be able to help (assuming no biters for free for all).

Shanty is decent ATM, but she'll truly shine when her rework happens around Fran event, so her EX is ATM an investment for the future, it's not bad by a long shot (multi element weakness debuffer is SO good), but Shanty is.... Meh right now.

Be aware EXs are a 5% appearance rate per gold, so much like FFBE STMRs, DON'T chase them (unless of course Waifu/Husbando), chase good banners instead (which Shanty EX happens to be on ATM).

I dunno, shantotto with EX is a bit better then meh right now. Granted you're not going to be pushing out Terra damage every turn but elemental weakness really make summoning turns just devastating.

Did like 40 tickets and 3 multis for 3x 35 CPs for Noctis... however that last multi also had 2 off banner 15 CPs and his EX :D Time to sell some shit and max him out.

Edit: Damn... EX stage requires you to bring Noctis for a full clear

2 10+1s and 40ish tickets got me: 2x Noctis 15, 2x Noctis 35, 2x Rem 35 (didn't have her 35 and already MLB her 15), and 1x Irvine 15. No Noctis EX

We still got 10k gems and trials of Bahamut gems/tickets at least still.

Also BARELY cleared Noctis EX with MLB 60/60 Yuna, MLB Lilisette and MLB Sephiroth, friend EX Cloud, Ifrit smn. Ended up with no skills left at end and barely won before he killed my group. 55k points, so didn't get the 500 gems. Gonna gem revive clear with Noctis to complete it.

Edit: Also got off banner Hope 15 (which makes MLB, so yay 4 power stones) from one of the 2 multi.

Cleared ex stage with Terra, Lillisette, and Rem in 105 turns. I had no skills left at the end. Score was just over the stage requirement. The hardest part for me was concerning skills and killing the trash quickly. They have really high ibrv and hp.

I'll go back for the completion with Noctis once he's leveled and probably gem revive

Ended up with Noctis 15/35/EX after a handful of tickets and 1 multi pull. Made up for the ass load of gems I threw at Cloud with nothing to show. Equipment maxed, now to max out the rest of him. Question though, friends with maxed EX have the small EX symbol on the character select screen, but that doesn't seem to show up in my own character select screen. Is that normal or am I missing something?

Fran isn't going to make it to Global for about a year. So you can safely spend as much as you want until we have even a sniff of her event on the horizon. Also, by the time Fran drops, if you keep playing and collecting rewards all the way to then, you will be able to outright buy her weapons with weapon tokens (provided you don't spend them all on other stuff). She doesn't come with an EX so pulling for her is extremely simple. It did take me personally many pulls to get her 35, however, I could have just bought it with tokens if I had wanted. I wouldn't worry about Fran for a loooooooong time.

Current banners good for beginners: I think you missed the ideal ones from first awakening that just ended, but second awakening is pretty good too. You want to make sure you build up at least one healer, one physical dps, one ranged dps, and one magical dps. Many of the quests mobs we get from now on will be resistant to one or even two types of damage, so it's important to have a good variety of damage dealers.

For healers, Yuna and Rem are available now. If you decide to go this route, build whichever one you manage to pull weapons for, they're both good. Rem's strength lies in passing extra turns to and batterying your strong dps units. Yuna's 15 passive adds a partywide esuna which is sometimes super clutch. Be aware though that Rem comes with a heal in her base kit, while Yuna needs crystal level 60 to be able to add heals to her kit and you might not be able to collect enough white high shards to get her there just yet.

For physical dps, the best you can get now is Tidus. He applies sick debuffs and has a decent number of skill uses, he's solid and doesn't need his 15 passive to be good, but he does need his 35.
For ranged dps, Noctis is the obvious answer, but he's useless without ALL of his weapons (15,35,EX) and that may be too much of a resource sink for a new player who is just building a roster. There will be other banners.
And finally for magical dps, unfortunately you missed Terra who is the best right now, but Vaan is very close behind her. He is weapon dependent though - you need both 15 & 35. [edit] You might be better served waiting for the Alisaie banner which should have both her and Papalymo - Papalymo is a solid dps.

Another option is pulling on the chapter 11 banner. Lilisette is more of a complement character to other strong units, but it certainly wouldn't be bad to have her on your roster for the future. Jecht is actually a strong physical dps if you understand how his kit works. Yuri is...um...not recommended to use without a healer.

Power stones are still as tooth-pullingly painful to come by as ever. You definitely want to pull extra copies if you can swing it.

currently in the process of re-rolling, it's... not going well. 60 tickets (20 per roll) and the only gold I've seen was a duplicate of Rem's 15 CP tutorial weapon. I just about cried lol. should have stuck with my Shantotto 2x 35CP roll I guess...

Even though Shantotto has an EX, she is not very good and she won't be a strong contender for a long time (poor evil black mage ) If you have the time for it, you should absolutely reroll until you get some good pulls. I probably rerolled my JP account 10+ times when I started it so I know the feeling, but it was totally worth it.
If you do your rerolls on bluestacks or other emulator, you should be able to just wipe the user file and save yourself a long data download.
