They also mentioned you get more Materia slots by fully leveling and LBing to 7* using this new system DUPE EX weapons. I.e. if you want 2 Materia slots on Cloud, you need to 7* 2 copies of Cloud EX.

Yeah... I'm not really sure it's even worth trying to do that atm. The EX upgrades are huge while a second slot isn't gonna do much, better spend resources on upgrading another EX weapon altogether. Probably good for us though, save those EX dupes instead of fusing for LBs/selling them.

The overall system seems pretty convoluted requiring to craft certain items using others while also requiring other special items to LB the new weapon and having to level it up all over again (basically you upgrade the EX weapon keeping all the passives but resetting levels and LBs to gain new ones and more stats, CPs also increase). Same process for the 90 CP armor. And there's sphere slots for additional passives to equip.

While it does seem a bit convoluted right now, I don't think it'll be too bad. I'm so glad they didn't go the route of giving every character an even stronger weapon than EX, especially when half the roster doesn't have an EX yet. I can't think of what else they could have done to reduce unique-item bloat besides upgrading what we already have. They're already going to have to expand inventory eventually because of how many characters there are - it's going to become literally impossible to hold one copy of every character's weapon/armor, even with maxed out optional inventory slots. Not to mention all the random pieces I'm sure people have lying around at any given time.

I wonder if they are planning to use the "crafting system" for anything else besides weapon/armor upgrades. Perhaps they'll apply it to eidojas and make them like they wanted them to be in the first place - another thing to slot materia into, another way to soft-upgrade characters.

But the real question is, how long until GL gets the pity system implemented? I doubt it's gonna be long...

Saint Cloth is kinda meh honestly, we'll see. Thunder Slash+ can Overflow as well as her EX! She seems pretty good.

Those are passives, they activate on any buff. You need Saint Cloth and her unique buff from Thunder Slash to activate the ++ attacks so there's that I guess. Her HP attack ++ looks pretty good. Funny how all of her abilities count as magic.

Same, but there have been so many reddit threads hypothesizing a pity system that I can't imagine they didn't do it partly because GL wants it so bad. God knows they don't give any fucks about JP customers, who will keep whaling out regardless of whether there is a pity system in place or not.

Beatrix's full kit is datamined already. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go for her since she's magic. I tend to have all magic and not enough physical characters, so I was really hoping she'd be a good physical unit, but alas. Still, lightning magic is pretty rare compared to other elements which is good - she should also have good synergy with Garnet and Vincent who do lightning imperils. Her C50 passive isn't super great though - it buffs ATK and DEF. ATK is good, but DEF is whatever. I wonder if that will end up pushing her C50 out of the 2nd spot for preferred artifact (Max Brv is obviously going to be #1).

Her C50 is a party aura though, super useful.
Anyway her banner partners are Terra and Kryle, guess it's time for me to get some of her gear lol.Kryle is also getting her rework and EX this month in JP, should be interesting.

If you like using Terra, then yes Darkruler. Terra's EX isn't anything special, but it'll still make your Terra better (as does any characters EX).

Penelo is actually pretty good with her early awakening. Not as good as Cait but she works fine.

I have CL 60 Thancred, Serah, Yuna, Wol, and Lion. I have doubts that there's enough shards to go around for Vincent.

So I finished Interlude and saw that the 15 tokens for clearing it were MIA. So does this mean I won't see them till March when S2 Ch. 1 comes out? Will suck to have to wait months to pick up Cat's 35 (got everything MLB on his banner but that).

I'm hitting the cap on almost all my high shards, most are 900+. I need to farm smaller crystals but I don't have the patience for it. It really sucks that the cap for them is still 999
