I think I'm gonna skip Rem, pull a bit to get Deuce 35 (not gonna chase Ace right now), try a bit harder for Lightning EX/Agrias stuff and then wait for Quistis/Kuja. That's assuming they don't throw more curveballs at us.

Maxed out Celes after buying her 35 in the store. I couldn't manage to pull the damn thing after getting her ex.

Celes lost chapter score gave me a hard time. Completed the stage no with a few teams but it ended up taking a team of

Celes, Selphie, and Layle all mlb, Layle friend and Pandamonium summon. Ended up with 40(39 maybe?) turns and a 240k score.

All my other attempts with different characters put me in the 55 turn range. All hail the launch meta.

Btw here's a small tip if you're planning to tackle Chaos stages at release and you don't have any of the early EX+ weapons ready to be upgraded (Cloud, WoL, Squall, Tidus, Ace just to name a few): save 75k gems for Sherlotta and get her EX in December. She's been in every team I've seen for Chaos and probably the only non-sinergy lvl. 70 that works fine without EX+ atm. Stats are insane on those bosses and without sinergy or EX+ even the most recent characters hit for laughable damage. She's a top tier support and can help you in Chaos more than anyone else (battery in all of her moves plus extra HP damage for the entire party).
With the G token system in GL this early we can actually plan that far ahead and at least have a decent shot at these things, there's plenty of time before she's released to save up those gems (and if you get lucky you can actually pull on those EX+ banners right after with the saved up gems).
If you don't care about Chaos go for favorites as usual.
Ace is also a really popular pick from what I've seen but he's gonna appear in two more banners after Deuce's debut event so there's plenty of time to try and snatch his EX with tickets.

Popped another 5k and 35 tickets on Vaan EX banner today, stil no Vaan EX, but I did get 2x Layle 35(already had his 15 MLB from previous attempt at Vaan) so now he has both abilities, and enough power stones to max out Selphie's 15, giving her access to both abilities as well. I decided to take Layle to 60/60 since I got his 35. I may not be getting access to Vaan EX but at least I'm getting the chance to clean up other characters while trying for it.

Tbh you'll probably get more use out of Selphie and Layle than Vaan's EX lol. It's just an extra toy at this point and not really necessary. I've given up on it for now myself, but it'll rerun several times so nbd.

Ace will also rerun several times. Not sure about Prishe or Rem... haven't seen a rerun of theirs since I started playing JP nearly a year ago so yikes.

Rem is getting a rerun this month in JP on Machina's banner (alongside her rework and EX+), nothing for Prishe but without a rework she's pretty much trash at this point.

It's just Vaan is part of my main melee team since he's pretty strong, I have both his 15's MLB and I have his 35. So I wanna try to invest in him more than other atm.

Yeah, Pecil is Chapter 2 Arc 2. Sadly he drops on top of Kuja, Quistis, Golbez and Rinoa. Also Rosa if you like her.

The good buffers are Selphie, Cait and soon Deuce. You kinda need both their 15 and 35 CPs to use them at their top but the first two can work fine with only their 35s if you can't LB their 15 to the max.

Rem is getting her EX on the chapter banner on Thursday so she'll be back as an excellent choice. I'm gonna drop a little on that and enough on Deuce to nab her 35.
Seven is not really worth building - she is my #1 disappointment in JP and I never should have fished for her 35 or 70 awakened her - but I suspect there will be a lot of maxed Sevens in the quest to pull Rem's EX.

I'm tired of the launch meta already, but at least Agrias is where launch meta dies. I hate being forced to use one strategy or one type of composition to meet scores, it really goes against the spirit of the game. Still working on Fang's EX but at least I managed to get the rest completed with Layle - Setzer - Cait Sith - friend Layle and Pande summon. That's pretty much the go-to comp right now...yawn.

How far off is Agrias for GL? I don't think I've been able to find a time line for characters coming to the game, besides ones coming within a month.

Nah, he's talking about character events (Noctis was the first tbh). From here though most character events will feature their own EX but some will be skipped unfortunatly (Lulu, Barret and Fran to name a few).
