    Commentary
    • The Emperor uses Elixir on his first turn after being reduced to 55% HP or lower.
Not much to this fight, really. His offense is entirely magical and entirely thunder damage, so stack up against those. He buffs himself with Haste and Barrier, so bring Banishing Strike or Dispel. He's weak to Holy, so bring your Holy attacks. His base evasion is a little higher than usual (175) and with Blink up it's enough that you'll actually miss a few times, but it's not as big a deal as it is against the Lamia Queen and, as is true in that fight, it does nothing against Lifesiphon, Soul Breaks, or spells.

30% chance, unlocks turn 4: Attack (PHY: deal 110% physical damage to all targets with a 12% chance to Sleep them)

    Commentary
    • Lamia Queen enters Weak state at 70% HP and Very Weak state at 40% HP.
Lamia Queen is incredibly aggrivating but not especially difficult. Her damage is entirely physical, so load up on that, and her Blink buff doesn't affect Lifesiphon, Soul Breaks, or spells. Her status effects get really annoying in her Very Weak phase but unless she slows you down so much that your buffs wear off, you shouldn't have any real trouble.

    Commentary
    • There are 3 waves of 4 Black Knights each. The lower-left Black Knight in each wave is Strong and has better stats and a different attack set than the others.
The Black Knights are pure physical damage, but their attacks ignore Draw Fire and Retaliate (and similar effects). Bring heavy physical mitigation, including an Attack Breakdown Dance. If you have any AOE Holy damage SSBs, they'll do wonders for you here. Otherwise just bring your best AOE attacks and SBs.

CM mastered, went with a 4-character setup:

gordon - full break/power breakdown, kashuan's resolve - dr. mog
    leila - powerchain/lifesiphon, pirate's knives - ace striker
    maria - meltdown/chain firaga, default - devotion
    minwu - curaja/protectga, WotWM - mako might

RW was meteor XVI. spent a few turns setting up before having maria cast the RW. the initial cast wasn't particularly impressive but once she was fully magic-boosted, burst command 1 was doing insane amounts of damage, 7-8k/hit*6. i had a couple of significant advantages however, by way of a 5+ mage stick for maria and leila's SSB which has a major res-break effect. without that in play you'd definitely need a second RW cast, but i imagine this method should be quite doable with less than stellar equipment.

Mastered CM with full medals with a no unique SB phys team, though her evasion and frequent debuffs makes it extremely annoying for physical. The maria RW method is probably a lot easier if you managed to get an FF2 mage stick.

    Setup was:
    Spoiler: show

    Minwu - Curaja r5 / Reflect r2 / Double Cast / No SB
Gordon - Full Break r2 / Power Breakdown r4 / Mako Might / Shared Protectga
    Leon - Saint Cross r4 / Dark Bargain r3 / Holy Knight's Pride / No SB
    Firion - Full Charge r3 / Armor Break r5 / Sword DMG +20% / No SB
    Leila - Thief's Revenge r3 / Northern Cross r2 / Sword DMG +20% / No SB

    RW - Shout

Opened with shared protectga and defended until she took 8 turns to run out her initial blink, then casted reflect on boss to prevent blink from being reapplied and took the boss down. Had planned to reflect Leila (since she can self heal with TR) to bounce a second reflect onto the boss, though I ended the fight before that ended up being needed.

    EDIT:

Soloed CM with mastery using Leon's BSB

Did both U and U+ with pure physical groups, didn't lose 1 medal. I just used my A Team though.

    80 Agrias - Cleansing Strike
80 Lenna - Pride of Tycoon
    80 Fran - Mist Overload
    99 Cloud - Fenrir Overdrive
    99 Pecil - Paladin Force.

Will need to rethink my U++ strategy. Didn't expect them to hit that hard. =/ Coupled with having to S/L a few times just because they love to focus fire one person before buffs go up.

Or take a bunch of aoe holy dmg. Queued up all of my sb's as the 2nd wave died, killed 3/4 of the third wave before they could attack.

yeah, if you have SG, slap multibreak + either power or armor breakdown dances on tyro. i think i one-shotted wave 2 with ramza's BSB entry alone, paladin force is similarly busted here (and definitely advantaged since you have the AoE command if the entry doesn't wipe the current wave).

    U+ CM:
    Spoiler: show

Had a few S/L to get the timing right on applying Reflect before the recast on Blink, but even when Lamia didn't have it up Full Charge would regularly miss 25% of the time and Dragon Dive would also miss about 25% of its hits. The sleep is really annoying when it hit Gordon or Minwu when queuing up a heal or Fullbreak/Goddess Bell, and thats really where the fight is lost or won, IMHO. Lost 1 medal for actions and 1 for damage. RW was Shout. Only brought Fullbreak on Gordon because I don't have a shared Protectga and my only other option was to bring Maria and miss out on the damage from Ricard.

    U++:
    Spoiler: show

Went 1/1, though certainly not because this was an easy fight. I was actually going too fast, and almost wiped on the start of the 2nd wave because debuffs weren't getting reapplied and I didn't apply stoneskin on the 1st wave. Slowed it down and tanked one final Knight on wave 2 to reapply Shout (RW), SSII, and set up Beatrix, Agrias, and Mog with SB usage to start the 3rd phase. Vincent died because of this, but he had exhausted his Alex uses anyways. Only lost 1 medal for damage, and damn did I take a lot of damage.

Found U++ to be dumb easy.

    80 Leon / Saint Cross / Bladeblitz / HotE / Mako Might
    80 Garnet / Alexander / Protectga / Dagger of Resolve / Knight's Charge
    80 Faris / Exhausting Polka / Thief's Revenge / Kindred Spirit / Ace Striker
80 Penelo / Curaja / Multibreak / Intercession / Dr. Mog's Teachings (Should have probably used War Dance, but forgot I had unequipped it).
99 Pecil / Aegis Strike / Lifesiphon / Paladin Force / Azure Blade

RW was Seal of Heaven. Took me maybe 6 turns.

Nothing stellar synergy-wise, but I do realize the BSBs made all the difference. Faris/Pecil/Garnet also have some serious record dive levels.
