that said it do reek a little of big brain take. many Twitter observers a la Glenn Greenwald are painting this as though the entire situation is the result of warmongering American propaganda, as though in opposing Russian imperialism you are embracing an immorally-equivalent American imperialism. in the face of foreign expansionism it is a horrible read, and these people are a little reminiscent of truthers in that only they can see through the lies that beguile others, while seemingly having no concern or compassion for the Chechen, Georgian, and now Ukrainian victims of Russia's aggression. but while all that may be accurate the truth remains that the idea of direct corporate sponsorship for any news article whatever is, let us generously say, disconcerting. all the more so when it is a weapons manufacturer shaping opinion on an impending military conflict.
