Not entirely. It would break apart quite a bit, but the ISS is pressurized, so it's significantly heavier than a traditional satellite size for size. A quick google search puts it at 925,000 lbs and the size of a football field, so what's left would cause a lot of damage upon impact if it hit land, not to mention killing everyone on board and ruining decades of work and hundreds of billions of dollars of investment.

But if that's true, it's more dead in 3 days than America lost in 20 years in Afghanistan.

It's possible considering the sheer volume of total forces the Russians (900kish) & Ukrainians (300kish) have to throw at this thing, but if there's 3000 dead Russians you'd imagine the Ukrainian numbers would be double to triple that.

America fights abnormally low casualty wars and Russian incompetence led to excessive loss of life the last time they faced a real enemy in Chechnya but yes most any figures being thrown around in active war zones by principal combatants are going to be fuzzy to meaningless.
