i'm not entirely sure what you find funny. while awesome, obvious examples like the ghost of kviv is taken right out of the ussr ww2 propaganda handbook. it's the exact same story as when they followed the exploits of a sniper named vasily zaytsev in the battle of stalingrad. the ussr was being invaded by germany, and to keep morale high within the army their media publicized all vasilys kills and turned him into a celebrity.

and i'm not saying it's a bad thing. you do what you gotta do to keep morale high and win a war. i commend them because it's working, it's getting their citizens to join the fight... but it is propaganda all the same. the dictionary definition of it. and there's dozens of other obvious examples, we're just more naturally oblivious to ukrainian propaganda because fuck russia

Foreign policy experts smarter than are pointing out this obvious conclusion, but I'm really just nervous and baffled with where this is all headed. Even if Putin unrealistically just like said "okay I give up" and withdrew all troops, so then what? Putin's reputation and Russia will be blighted for a long time. They had been quite good at working fairly covertly as evil mother fuckers undermining the world with surrounded by a sense of dismissive deniability. Now it's all out. Things can't just go back to pretending in a year or two. This is the best possible opportunity for the world to get rid of Putin and at least nullify a lot of the evil shit being exported from Russia. Would be a nice outcome but the reality will probably be a lot more messy and unsatisfying than that.
