It's capitalist. Authoritarianism is a government structure, capitalism is an economic one. The two are not mutually exclusive. The fact that there is no subdivisions under capitalist does not make capitalist the wrong choice.

With Russia now going after civilian targets, the underdog winning plotline seems likely to come to a close.
Hold onto your butts because it's all downhill from here.
I get why they feel compelled to take this approach, but executing captured troops / not taking prisoners / not accepting surrenders is against international law, just as much as shelling civilians. I get it, I do, but this needs prosecuted too if they're doing what I'm envisioning.
from a tactical standpoint its the best course of action for the rest of the eu to watch it happen, as ukraine has essentially become their meat shield for years to come for the small price of 70 fighter jets. it just sucks from a humanitarian standpoint
Seconded. They will not do anything. If Russia didn't have nukes (and the second largest airforce), we would probably be no fly zoning tf out of them.
Long-term, Ukraine will be a puppet state until Putin is dead and probably for some time after and Russia will be China's bitch. Xi is the big winner here.
I'm sure Putin will stop at Ukraine and be satisfied.
Worked out when ol Adolf took Poland and decided to call it a day
Yes, the world will just idle and let Putin do this shit.
Because they've learned nothing from all the other dumb past wars they've been involved with.
remember that one time they tagged a british door handle with nerve agent and then tossed it in a park trash bin like it was takeaway
remember that one time Russian separatists shot down a passenger jet
iirc chemical weapons use was the final impetus for the international community to get involved with Qaddafi, Putin I would assume knows better than to repeat that but who knows
