Bad timing but that opening scenes was terrible. the goofy lil Jedi training helmets. It's that the moment the stormtroopers enter and shoot, the previously smooth fluid camera movement just starts violently shaking in place.

Disney+ has added a text warning in the episode description for the first episode (though not shown in broadcast), and Netflix has added a similar message for the premiere of Stranger Things.

c'mon Disney y'all got the biggest budget but get these child actors off craigslist? Leia was almost insufferable. My wife yelled out "omg shut up!" when she was going on and on after Obi Wan rescued her. The writing was a bit wack in some parts.

I'm in it for Ewan though so I'm hoping it gets better.

A couple of you are crack smokers. The Leia actress is doing a fantastic job, and most child actors are usually trash.

The only poorly done part is that a handful of grown men, on multiple occasions, could not easily grab/catch a small child.

She also looks a lot closer to 5 than 10.

My speculation about Reva:

Reva is obsessed with bringing in Obi-Wan. The other inquisitors remark about her “stench” and how she is seeking to gain favor. The Fifth Brother asks her what she thinks she will get by capturing Obi-Wan and she replies “what I’m owed”. Reva also knows that Anakin Skywalker IS Darth Vader, something that was not commonly known. Therefore, I speculate Reva was one of the children shown in the opening scene at the Jedi Temple massacre escaping order 66. She knows Anakin is Vader because she saw him there that night. She either escapes or is taken by the Emperor to be trained etc, but because she came from the Jedi they view her in a very low regard. She knows if she brings in Obi-Wan it will get her close to Vader. She plans to kill Vader in revenge for the temple purge.

This was alright, all in for Ewan but the rest of it is just... kinda nothing.

Died laughing during those chasing Leia scenes. Grown ass men can't catch a 5 (oh sorry I mean 10) yr old girl running at the speed of a brisk walk, and that rooftop scene was just so confusing and hilarious. Also not a huge fan of her actor, but the writing isn't helping much either. She's alright.

Just hoping whatever they have saved at the end of this makes up for it, cuz I don't think anything is really going to happen until then. See you in 4 weeks.

Aside from a couple issues, the show does show some promise and if anything, Ewan is gonna be carrying it on his back.

Whole time I was thinking, "couldn't they have a hired a child actor that could at least sell that she's running fast or more athletic?" You could tell the adult actors were play-running when they were chasing her and that just sorta took me out. The acting was fine and young Leia's attitude and demeanor pretty much matches how she was in A New Hope. The rooftop scene sorta just abruptly ends too which could have been edited better. Other than that, show was enjoyable and I'm definitely in it for Ewan.

I had to look up the actor playing Leia. I was like this kid can't be older than 5, playing a 10 year old. Sure enough she's 9, and was probably 8 while filming. My niece is the same age, like twice her size and can run quite a bit faster. Whoever this kid is, must be in the bottom percentile for her height/age.

This show is a roller coaster for quality. Half the time my wife and I are in a perminate state of cringe with the writing and acting. The other half is the hope it gets better. Nostalgia glasses wouldn't even help much. I know every SW show can't be the Mandorian, but....

Only gripe I really had was how hilariously bad the Leia chase scenes were. Kid actors are always a coin flip. Echoing the sentiment that I'm mainly watching for Ewan McGregor. Curious to see how 3S knew about Leia's connection to Obi-Wan/Vader though.

She said that she reviewed old files and saw that he was friends with Organa during the war, or something along those lines.

I'm more curious why she knows Anakin is Vader, because that's been established as not widely known information.

Ah, that does make more sense than her somehow knowing Leia was Anakin's kid. As for knowing A=V, I'm pretty sure it'll be revealed she was one of the younglings at the Jedi Temple in the opening of episode 1. Casting age is kinda wonky, but that's been par for course.
