Any idea why GG's name is just a bunch of numbers now?

Apparently their name got reported for being racist or something? I dunno. I honestly wasn't paying much attention to the drama, I just wanted to craft and get my build together. But now I'm leading a company and shitposting in global chat. Waiting to see what GG does. I was talking to someone from there and said I wanted them to leave, and they said they just wanted to beat down Mystical. Fair enough. Hopefully they all find a better server for their sweaty nature, and I'll go green and take my Brightwood back.

But honestly, which of you bastards made the character WINDHURST because I hate you.

Pretty sure it's already up. I'm not moving though, I haven't even started to PvP yet, still leveling and doing crafting with what limited time that I have available.

I'm on Zuvendis but no idea if I'm staying or not. There's a super sweaty company "from Rust" that's far more together and planned out than any other company and basically just bullying people (taking towns, max out taxes, etc.) I'm hoping they leave because there's no company that really wants to compete with them. Some leaders want to beat them, and I'm kinda for it, but they were talking to me yesterday about it being a "40 hr a week min guild" and while I absolutely have that playtime, I'm not playing this MMO like it's a job, and that's just not fun to me. I want to be crafting and grinding out weapon mastery so I can maybe swap builds around, but instead I feel obligated to go on PvP missions and try to defend or attack regions. But I've also made some good friends here, and there's no telling that another server I hop to won't have similar or worse issues. I'd rather be playing against other collections of randoms, not a dedicated hardcore PvP company that has years of experience together.

Also my server is HEAVY purple population, so if the sweaty company leaves I'm likely to faction change to green and hopefully egg some other companies on to swapping so that the server becomes more balanced.

We had a pretty toxic and racist yellow company leave the server and now that entire faction is essentially dead. The politics of who will take their 2 territories over is driving more people to want to leave, but I don't imagine things are ultimately much better anywhere else. Basically the largest remaining company (marauders) is willing to do whatever they want without regard to anyone else in the faction and is just bullying everyone else.

Edit: just read that this group, The Enclave, is far more notorious across many MMOs than I realized. They are on Metnal server now.

had my system restart while playing this the other day... then noticed that fps capping @ 60 wasn't actually happening...was getting anywhere from 65-100 when set to cap@60. Got a little spooked about the possibility of a bricked gpu, haven't logged back in since. Fun game, but not worth bricking something that can't be easily replaced right now.

Nvidia card? You can limit framerate now from the Nvidia Control Panel. It's "max frame rate" in Manage 3D Settings.

So I think I'm done with my server (again? lol) and looking for a new place to go. Anyone know of any server that purple is a slight disadvantage on, so that a few people could maybe bring things up to a more even fight?

I've been out of the loop for a few days, but apparently a decent number of my faction's leading companies (that between them all have a number of territories) all just switched servers. It's going to be interesting to see what happens.

Public test server announcement.

The Public Test Realm (PTR) is a limited-availability server-set that will give players an early look at upcoming features. These preview builds are snapshots of upcoming major updates and are not final versions— you may encounter bugs, crashes, missing text, or other issues. Between our internal testing efforts and your feedback we hope to catch and resolve all serious issues before they reach the live servers. Hundreds of changes have been made and the full release notes will be shared on release day.

To help with the feedback process, all newly created characters on these worlds will have the opportunity to instantly level to select level-ranges outfitted with appropriate gear and items.

By the end of today, everyone with a copy of New World will find the New World Public Test Realm application in their Steam library. Downloading this stand-alone application allows interested players access to check out the latest preview version and provide feedback. PTR servers will officially open tomorrow, November 10, at 12 PM PT (7PM UTC). Servers are limited — at the start, there will be one world available in US East and one world available in Central Europe.

When the test period is complete and the main New World game is updated with the previewed content, all worlds will shut down and be wiped clean. You will still see the New World PTR application in your Steam library, but there will not be active servers until the next time we announce a test.

If you encounter a bug, exploit, or have suggestions to improve a feature or piece of content, we’d love to hear your feedback on our new PTR sub-forum (you can also utilize our in-game feedback tool). We will do our best to address as much of your feedback as possible before the content update makes its way to our live servers. Your participation will help us to deliver awesome content and updates in the future!
