Why build a Ford bot? It doesn't have his memories, and both hosts and humans know Ford is dead. What purpose does a Ford bot serve, other then to give Hopkins a paycheck?

I'm not sure about that. The Delos people (Ford, Charlotte, William, Theresa) frequently talked about a "bigger picture" than just the park, something that Delos had in mind that was much grander than just entertainment. One logical possibility of Delos' endgame would be the transferring of consciousness from the original body to a specifically constructed host, effectively creating immortality for the mind/consciousness. That handshake near the end between Ford and Bernard seemed very significant, and I'm wondering if we didn't witness the transfer (or perhaps a Ctrl+P) of consciousness to another. I don't know that Bernard had any dialogue after that, and was mostly shown as an observer, which is something "Ford" might do, watching his own assassination from his new body. That would allow Ford to effectively live on, and carry on with his work from a different, more permanent body that he had been preparing for this specific instance for years.

Has anyone read Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom? It's a very short book, but it has similar themes to this show. Man has evolved beyond the need for a body and is able to back up their minds, including memories, in case you were to die.

Had to read it for a college class and finished it in a few hours. Though it's not directly the same, it seems that this show is kind of a lead up to that point; being able to transfer a mind and consciousness to a fabricated body.

...but before I read that article, I assumed that Meave went back because her daughter was her "cornerstone memory".

Not only this but if you rewatch the scene where Bernard shows her that she's just following a new narrative that scripts her escape, you can see that one of the steps after escaping is "Mainland Infiltration". She does not follow that command and decides on her own free will to deviate from her programing and go back to the park to free her daughter.

Yeah, the little boy was Ford. I don't remember if he was making something when he had Bernard off what's her name, though.

I assumed he was going to (or already did) replace everyone that works there with a host.

Could still be the case and his killing all the execs was part of that.

Exactly. Why bother with the fiction of the accident when Teresa could have just gone missing? Why not just make Teresa the first to be replaced if that's the goal?

Honestly if replacing people is Ford's plan then Delores' little murder party is a monumentally dumb way to do it. In all the panic and mayhem it would be impossible to be sure that someone didn't get a phone call out before they died. It was obvious that Ford's plan ended with his revelation to Delores and telling her who she needed to become. He had a pretty good idea what would happen next, but he wanted it to be Delores' choice.

Does anyone else view "Wyatt" as a virus/overriding program that uploads uncontrollable rage, viloence, and murder? I don't think "Wyatt" is a person because it was associated with 3 different hosts. The perceived Wyatt, Teddy, and Delores at the end. I'll have to rewatch the scene, but I thought saw the word "Wyatt" when someone (Ford?) pulled up Delores' info on the little computer tablet.

It indicated that Wyatt's personality has been uploaded in her.

It said that Arnold kind of fused some of Wyatts coding with Delores. At the time Eyatt was being developed as a new antagonist or something.

sokething in still thinking about is MiB's interaction with Maeve in her previous host role. It shows he scene where he goes and kills her just to see how he would feel about it or whatever. To find out more about himself. That scene is big on multiple levels I feel. He says that's when the maze presented itself to him when she runs out into the field. She dies. And the cameras eventually spiral upwards above her and reveal that she's in the middle of a field with her at the center of the maze. Is this the first time she became conscious? They talked about how that wasn't the first time she has awoken. That must've been it and when she was changed roles in the park. This is also big for Williams development too. He went to the park that day to find more about himself, to look inward and he did. He found out more about who he is when he killed those two and felt nothing. He also saw that other hosts can be more alive through suffering and was excited by that but didn't fully comprehend it. Now I'm wondering how he found out about the maze through that scene specifically because he said that's when it presented itself to him.
