wonder how long they last? do they have to plug in to recharge or something? Or can they eat food for power and absorb solar energy through their skin, or do they have mini fusion reactors inside them?
I don't think it's worth worrying about. They've gone so far as to show us they can use synthetic muscles, who knows what else they can do.
Yeah, they're basically 3D printed humans at this point. The older automatons probably needed some kind of power source, but the new ones are almost human. They probably get enough energy eating and drinking within their narratives to continue to live. Even the ones in cold storage are apparently fine to rebel after who knows how long they've been down there.
doubt they would have an actual workign brain tho. Maybe some fake brain tissue looking stuff, with a cpu hidden inside.
of course they wouldnt have an actual working brain, they are fucking robots
Actually I'm leaning more to a biological computer. Maybe not brain tissue per say, but I'd imagine they're mostly organic. Then again, who knows as the show takes place over 50 years from now. Tech moves pretty fast.
gotta have some stuff to splatter out to make it realistic tho when people blow their brains out
don't think they use metal tho, they were 3d printing full skeletons.
That was the older timeline, though. The newer models are more flesh and blood as shown after killing off some of the hosts in various episodes. I'd bet they made Dolores a new body and uploaded her personality and all that to the new body.
Also, why can't any of you fuckers spell Dolores?
I don't see anything, Delores.
They had said that she's the most reliable because she's the oldest in the park. I'm sure she's been repaired a whole bunch because of William's adventures with her. I don't know if they've ever shown her death in the current timeline to know if she has a new body or not. Considering the advances they had made it would make the most sense to give her one of the 3D printed bodies which are likely easier to repair and maintain. Just like Ford did with the Wyatt personality, he could easily upload Dolores' personality to the new body.
I think it's the same. Probably the oldest consciousness, not necessarily the oldest physical host.
The thing with Wyatt's personality being briefly uploaded to Doloras' suggests any host mind can be put into any host body at any given moment.
they explicitly state all of the hosts'es'es' personalities are just code. could be uploaded to a toaster if it has the drive space.
yeah all those soldiers william massacred in the past had metal parts and stuff. Doubt she's all original parts, it's 30 years of wear and tear. Prob have new formula for the skin and stuff too to be more realistic feeling.
I don't think it's so much a matter of if they could, but rather if they would bother. I guess it would depend on how far in advance Ford had planned to use Dolores and whether the new host models are actually technically advantageous to what he had planned or just more realistic and cost effective for the guests' sake.
They're definitely more cost effective.
You'd need to keep people on retainer just to repair one to a few old hosts that are completely mechanical. It's much easier to spray them down with a hose, pull out the shrapnel, then spray some new skin on than to repair metal limbs, run new wiring, replace circuitry, and mold new fake skin.
I was never questioning that they're more cost effective, William tells us they are. I was questioning whether mechanical is better for murdering a bunch of fools and then leading a revolution, like Ford had in mind for Dolores. We don't really know what, if any, technical differences there are between 3d-printed and mechanical aside from one is easier to repair.
