Officiating was really fucking spotty for both teams though once they blew like five in a row on the Jets.

I dont think any coach would be upset at their team taking a third man in penalty in that situation.
Also, the Refs might ignore the third man in ruling in a situation like that. Its a risk you take. You cant let your elite goaltender get bowled over like that without reprucussions.

I think Eakin's hit might be worse than Lucic's honestly.

It was an example of no one doing shit to Lucic after he bowls over our elite goaltender (at the time). That moment was the specific point where Buffalo's decline began and they got tons of shit for not pushing Lucic's face in.

I think Lucic's is far worse, and yeah, that's coming from me. Lucic had 100% intention to fuck up Miller. While Eakin, although he could have easily moved out of the way with all the time he had, was trying to go for the puck with a realistic opportunity to do so successfully. The puck was so ahead of Lucic, he knew Miller would get to it first, and he decided to bowl over Miller anyway.
