No idea lol. My only guess is they were trying to conserve energy for tomorrow night. Although despite that the Devils didn't actually have a ton of good chances.
Outshoot a team 46-13, lose 4-2. /sigh. Can't really do much else when one goalie is on a hot streak and the other has an ice cold game

(1) Via @EliasSports tonight's win marks the largest single game shot differential (-33) in club history where the @Canucks recorded the win
Game was lopsided as fuck. Tomorrow night better be a fucking redeeming massacre of a win. Ryan Miller is also 36 and in his contract year. So maybe he's trying to squeeze out 1 more decent contract before his time in the league is all but done.
Dude if CAN had won the WJC, we'd have 3 pages of bullshit. US wins and all of a sudden it means nothing. Eat shit Canadia.
Probably would have been fewer posts to be honest, you guys don't care about it and I would have bitched about the shootout regardless of who won it.
Srsly. Canada winning wouldn't have resulted in anything on here. So the viewership was high, but out of the Canadian posters on here not a single one would have cared enough to brag about it (...okay maybe Nynja would have done something >_>). The WJC is fun and all but fuck it gets repetitive especially with all the excessive media hype up here.
I think that's what ruins it for me. The media up here picks apart every tiny little thing in such detail with such excessive coverage that I just lost all interest before the tournament even started. Like, this shit starts in June or July every fucking year with the selection camp (or whenever the camp is), and leading up to the tournament in November it just picks up in coverage more and more and more and more and just kills any enthusiasm I could have for it.
Edit: I think the excessive coverage is mainly because TSN covers it. And with Sportsnet having all the NHL stuff, TSN just packs any and all World Junior coverage into airtime that they can because they don't have any other hockey.
I'm pretty sure I had all of 0 posts about the WJC until BK and Sep ran their mouths.
Okay, maybe not you but definitely Rata lol
Sorry, I had 4 posts:
Two of them were about Denmark and TrollTrace
One was about Team Canada choking because they were given the Leafs dressing room
One was about the literal translation of Dubois's name to english
Seriously, I didnt give a fuck about the WJC's. And yes I searched them otherwise Sep or BK would be like "you had 4 posts pleb, you cared, haha youre so butthurt"
This is my first post about the wjc
What a fucking hit that was.
Super clean too. Unfortunate Laine got hurt.

Laine would've never taken that hit if those scrubs didn't collapse.
These fucking idiots can't win 3 games in a row to save their lives.
Your trollline has no bait.
Laine got obliterated, wow.

Close to interference, but it looks like Laine did touch the puck.
Clean by current rules but damn the NHL is going to get sued to fucking oblivion... still shocks me courts allow any worker on worker violence that is not required for purposes of the contest. You can't have boxing or football without punching or tackling, but it's going to be far harder for the NHL to justify why it has to permit not only hits that severely injure people like that but also let's brawls break out too as a result of them
With how hard ice is (ref died earlier this season from innocently tripping and hitting his head) and the skates... hockey is far more likely to see a professional level on air fatality than the other sports
