It's fucking hockey. Go watch something else.
It's not that I don't like tough hockey but I'm just saying from a legal perspective it's unsustainable.... the athletes are employees and labor laws still cover them regardless of how famous and wealthy they are.
So tell me, Mr. Lawyer, how does the NHL protect players from the type of hit Laine took today, without damaging the integrity of the sport and respecting that it is a contact sport?
Courts of law don't give a shit about "respecting its a contact sport"... hockey can exist as a non contact sport. They can either keep paying lawsuit settlements or eventually keep outlawing more and more types of hits until it's completely non-bodychecking in 100 years. Fights will also be outright banned first much sooner
I'm not saying it will be outlawed overnight all at once but gradually there will slowly be an escalation in the prohibited contact
Ok Mr. Lawyer, whatever you say
So Wild drew a penalty with under two minutes to go and the goalie pulled. They kept attacking in a 6v5 situation. Wouldnt it ideally be better to give the puck away and make it a 6v4 situation for as long as possible? Instead of having 110 seconds of 6v4 they now have 70 seconds.
Well they scored, so who cares, eh?
Don't think you generally want the goalie pulled on a PP because icing has no consequence. They get more overall PP time if they play 6v5 as long as possible.
Well that didn't take long.
20 seconds lol
I could have sworn I put Draisaitl in and Spezza out, but espn says otherwise =(
That one kind of was though.
