I think Panarin is more legitimately talented and not just riding on Kane's coat tails. Pittsburgh has a lot of depth for rookies to work into though. So it's easy considering you could be on a line with Crosby one night and Malkin the next.

You're all advanced stats guys though, can't you look up all that shit and see who does better with stars and who still keeps contributing when playing with lesser linemates?

Edmonton Journal article was titled "Oilers Finally, Finally, Finally send Puljujarvi to AHL" LOL
He's been getting like 5 minutes of ice time per game lately. That's a great way to burn off a year of ELC and a year of UFA status sooner by keeping a kid in the lineup to... learn how to open the gate at an NHL level, or figure his way to the new arena?

I was surprised he stayed with the club at all at the start of the year. Did he have a really good preseason/first 9 games? I figured with Chiarelli at the GM helm, they wouldn't rush any more prospects like they did in the past

He was decent in preseason, scored in his first NHL game (nothing since lol) But I figured he'd get the standard 9 game look and AHL since he's Euro, he can go there as an underage player. But before the season started our RW was Eberle, Kassian, Puljujarvi and Yak. Yak got dealt, so everyone figured Puljujarvi would get that #2 spot, and Eberle would get 7878943789789 goals on a line with McDavid. Instead it's turned into a rotation of forwards so our top 6 are Maroon/McDavid/Leon, Lucic/RNH/Kassian. Poopliot and Ebs are now on the 3rd line, Puljujarvi should've been sent down to get used to NA style of game in November, but instead they've kept him up to learn the rigors of playing with Hendricks and Lander on the 4th line, or sometimes not even getting that for a regular shift, resulting in games of < 4 minutes of ice time. That'll sure groom him! They kept Draisaitl up for 37 games his first year, but wasn't the 40 games on a roster mark for early UFA status, JP was on the roster for 41 or 42 games, so they totally messed that up. I have no doubts he'll be a regular in the lineup in the future, but they totally gong showed up this season for him

What's funnier is that they burned a UFA year instead of an RFA year because the Oilers have played over 40 games.

NHL dumping 3rd jerseys for next season as Adidas is taking over for Reebok (which it owns) as the main manufacturer. Same thing happened in 07-08. So expect some minor redesigns all around and perhaps a flurry of new 3rd jerseys in 2 seasons time.
