Speaking of AHL players, the AHL all star game as a 3 on 3 20 minute game is PAINFUL. Just not enough speed or skill to make 3 on 3 entertaining. Coasting around, not cutting past people or deking, just rotating triangles looking for a backdoor pass and even when they get it they're shanking half their tap ins.

It is actually kind of shocking how steep a difference is between NHL level players and AHL level players. LOTS of guys who rip it up in the AHL but are complete shit when they a chance in the NHL.

It's even more compelling when you see guys who were kind of average in the AHL and somehow excel when they make the leap.
