That is a distinct kicking motion though. Intent of knowingly kicking the puck in are irrelevant, since he probably didnt intend to kick the puck in while getting checked into the net, but thats a kicking motion.

It was messy. Hitchcock not even finishing the season. Mike Yeo sitting and waiting for Hitchcock to go and was already introduced as the new coach in the same press conference announcing the firing. Doug Armstrong actually seemed to take it the hardest. Teared up at the press conference, couldn't speak and had to pass off the mic to Yeo. I don't think he wanted to fire him but given the team's performance (or lack thereof) it was an inevitability.
