Did the offense have a chance to score in the 4th quarter and keep their lead? Yes. Multiple chances.
Did they make use of those chances? No.
You guys are being way too fucking Canadian and "let's hold hands and let everyone get a participatory ribbon". Jesus fucking christ.
Did the Patriots defense have multiple chances to stop the Falcons in the first half and win the game? Yes.
Did they make use of those chances? No.
Was that defense tested in OT? No.
See the flaw now? I don't want a participation ribbon, I want a great game decided as fairly as possible.
Edit: This is my last comment on the matter because this is the hockey thread.
Fuck, this is going no where. Your argument is "regardless of half the team failing, the other half should get a chance." My argument is "the team is 1 whole team. Half failing means the whole team fails."
Get this shit out of the hockey thread already.
Rules are rules that the NFL and the NFLPA agreed to. I favor the NCAA OT rules but I've been hating football more and more lately that I couldn't give a damn how tie games are decided in extra time.
The shootout still sucks. At least 3v3 has given the fans some exciting extra hockey at the very least. And come playoff time, we get extra hackey time that can end instantly or go on well into the morning. Also possible heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and nausea, but that's the excitement.
Another fantastic start for the Leafs. Fuck me.
NIK FLAIR TIES IT UP
WOO
CAPTAIN MORGAN TO AUSTON MATTHEWS
Not fantastic defense from Willy there.
I see we've already gone over half ass NFL OT rules so we'll put that waaaaaaaaaaay over there.
Jets schedule lightening up is messing with me. Two days between games is fucking odd.
WILL NY GIVES US BACK THE LEAD GUY
Sure would be nice IF WE COLD HOLD A FUCKING LEAD
Well I knew we were losing that one. God fucking dammit.
That's at least 5 goals given up in each of our last 4 games I think. Hyman set the Leafs rookie record for shorties tonight with his 3rd though.
5 Leafs rookies scored in the same game for the first time in franchise history tonight.
AND WE FUCKING LOST
Claude Julien got fired
Bruce Cassidy will replace him for now
End of a fuckin era. Feel bad for the guy, he was the absolute scapegoat.
EDIT: Also, the fact that they're holding the press conference at 11:30 today DURING THE PARADE, just shows that they are gutless cowards.
Seriously, the fact that Jeremy Jacobs said that he was 'expecting a playoff run, and a DEEP playoff run' with a currently transitional team just proves that he is in it just for the money - with Bruins being an average team, and ticket prices being near what they were a few years ago.
The guy is a business man, I know, but my fucking god, can he be a bit realistic here? Don't tell us that you expect deep playoff run when you have a complete top-heavy team with the other 3 lines disappearing off the face of the earth for 10 games at a time.
By the way, more than halfway into the season, the backup goaltenders have combined for 1 WIN.
How do ya think it feels / felt here for a decade?
"Guys, we got Ryan Nugent-Hopkins / Yakupov / Hall / Eberle (Insert each player as per their draft) WE'RE GOING BACK TO THE PROMISED LAND!!"
And every year we'd get the same presser of "The playoff wait is over, everyone!"
No PR guy is gonna go up there like "Hello fans, our team is one line. I dunno how we expect to make the playoffs, let alone not get swept in round 1 IF we somehow fluskishly qualify. Please put all delusions aside, we're a dumpster fire. Don't even ask about D. Your continued support is great, though we don't understand why people actually pay money to watch this. Feel free to keep doing so, money is always great. Alright, see you folks in April for our end of season press conference / locker room cleaning / golf club packing."
