It' took over half the season but finally Wideman is put on the 3rd defensive pair. Derek Engelland has been a more safer and reliable defenseman then Wideman all season long. And Calgary has been trying to trade Wideman for over a year now. No one wants to take him off of our hands +_+.

In today's "NHL news no one cares about", Alex Tanguay retired and the Flames signed Matt Bartkowski to a 2-year 2-way deal. Not a bad signing. A potential 4th or 5th Dman who's expansion draft eligible. Ideally we'll dump Wideman ASAP so he can provide some potential depth.

Edit: Flames supposedly talking with Pittsburgh about Fleury too. I can't see that being a cheap trade but wizard GM Treliving has made some great moves in the past so hopefully this is just another one.
