lolbruins
oh boy that really went south quick.
TJ whacks at a loose puck, Ref blows his whistle thinking it's covered, Oilers knock TJ down, Talbot skates over and punches him twice while he is on the ground, well after the scrum, matching minors. okay then.
So uh, is Edmonton the real deal here?
Why are the Oilers winning games?
we'll see, they got a ton of lucky bounces tonight, every goal was a deflection, weird bounce, off the post right to an oiler, etc. McDavid makes them pretty damn good himself, but it'll be a matter of whether their pretty shit D can hold up, or if Talbot can make up for it. They won't be awful this year tho and they could make the play-offs if the rest of the Division keeps shitting it up.
Preds are getting obliterated by Anaheim.
So Taylor Hall, as good as he is, was clearly a problem for the Oilers I guess. Yakupov to an extent too I suppose.
Seriously though, wtf Edmonton? 7th in goals for, tied for 8th in goals against. When did they learn to play defense? They could legit go from being a bottom feeder for close to a decade to being the best team in the Pacific conference almost overnight here it feels like lol.
Barring McJesus not getting his annual serious November injury.
I keep pinching myself wondering if I'm dreaming. I know it's early, but fuuuuck. The past 10 years has been pretty shit-tastic, so I'm enjoying this... even if it is only temporary.
They still struggle to get the puck out of their own zone lots, and as weird as it sounds to pick on EASILY the best player we've had in a long, long time, McDavid needs to sometimes be more selfish and shoot when he's in the slot. Granted he pulls off some Playstation hockey manuvers, but sometimes there are the *one too many passes* moments. Talbot gets his 6th W of the year in October, when last season it took him til January to do that... yeah.
Lucic took his winning pedigree and turned the Oilers around
Same with Shaw and the Habs
Gotta protect Connor McDavid, even if it means calling a penalty when he's not even on the ice.
I'd hardly call McDavid blowing past Carlson in the neutral zone to generate a 2 on 1 'lucky'

I mean, look at that. Every Oiler beats his Capitals defender down the ice. And that play didn't break down when the shot hit the post. The play broke down when McDavid blew by cuckson and no one back checked hard. But by all means, focus on the last 0.2 seconds of the goal and chalk it up to luck rather than the proceeding 8 seconds.
Just for Nynja
