Funny, Kings are #1 in CF% and dead last at PDO. And more injuries this past weekend are pretty much making this season quite laughable.

Corsi was good when no one knew what corsi was, and werent trying to worry about manipulating corsi with shitty shots. Its time to evolve corsi and add a weighting system: perimeter shots are 0.5, high slot 0.75, home plate area 1, high danger area 1.5, add 0.25 if theres forced lateral movement.

Not sure how that last one would be tracked, but where theres a will, theres a way.

Are you suggesting teams actually take bad shots, just to make their Corsi look better? What would that even accomplish...? Maybe you mean players, who are attempting to inflate it in order to get a better contract or something? I agree it could be a good idea to keep evolving the adv stats and include things you suggested though.

Gionta used to do it all the time...cut down the wing and take an unscreened snapshot to the goalies crest for the faceoff. Its not a bad play to give your top line an ozone draw with fresh legs, but as far as the stats are concerned, that registers as a shot against despite the fact it had a fractions chance of going in the net.

Condon with Subban on the ice was had a GF/60 of 3.00 and a GA/60 of 2.07, and a corsi of 59.1. When Subban isnt on the ice, that GF/60 drops to 1.79 and GA/60 raises to 2.50 with a corsi of 41.8. But tell us more how Subban is a liability, and was costing the Habs games, because those numbers are telling a drastically different story from what you're portraying.
