War has broken out as ISIS has taken over part of the island of Mindanao. Duterte cut a Russia trip short to come back and officially declare war on them,

"If I think you should die, you will die. If you fight us, you will die. If there's an open defiance, you will die. And if it means many people dying, so be it," Duterte said at the news conference Wednesday. "That's how it is."

The military had botched a raid on one of the leaders as they didn't know he had so many backing him. Marawi City is currently under siege with much of it burning. Electricity has been cut and hostages are being taken at various locations.
