And commentator just told the crowd to shut up, respectfully. It's about time this was addressed, the crowd (and especially twitch chat) is a nightmare.
Bro if you're watching an event like this and expecting it to be a clinical church-like environment where there's no audience hype/interaction then I don't know what to tell you. One of the runners seemed annoyed so telling the crowd to be more respectful is fine, but outright telling the people giving you money to shut up is straight up retarded.
Of course I'm not. I don't think they need to be silent, but being outright annoying is disrespectful. The "WAAAAH" ing was dumb.
I think it was just an "emergency" measure for today and will be fixed for SGDQ
I'm just sad that something like that happens at the end of the Best GDQ ( money wise)
As of me it's time for bed won't watch undertale but this was a really fun week in general and sgdq will be fun too I hope!
I'm guessing with the other sources they'll count later, this broke well over $2m. Really amazing.
going to end up hitting 2 mil before the game starts
GGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL
I could understand asking for quiet with Any%. Way more breathing room in a 100%, but of course things can still go wrong.
OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! 2 MIL HYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE!!!!
hyyyyype! So happy.

I never seen undertale ever, wtf is the hype of this game? It looks like absolute dogshit and a blatent clone of earthbound with a weird battle system. Shit reminds me of the terrible hype that was homestuck, everyone is obsessed with it and i don't see why. Music is good tho.
It's a horribly overhyped shit game. It has a caustic fanbase that's hugely rabid over it. I hate it.
Uh oh, you said bad things about Undertale, the internet is coming to get you.
(I've never understood the hype behind it either)
earthbound worship with the sentimentality dial maxed out is a very powerful formula for some. the soundtrack is definitely the best part.
if there's such a thing as a hipster game, i'm pretty sure undertale is the archetypal example. on the whole i thought it was OK and i didn't feel bad about having spent $10 on it, but i'll never go back to play it again.
On the one hand, yes, it is absolutely an overhyped game. It's also an overhated game. It's pretty good. Not world-shattering amazing. Not industry-ruining cancerous. Just pretty good. Its biggest problem isn't the game itself, it's how radicalized its fans became about attacking anyone who didn't think it was literally 10/10 perfect flawless masterpiece.
On the other hand, the fact that you're (pretty fairly) calling it out as an Earthbound clone but also saying it looks like absolute dogshit when the best part of both Undertale and Earthbound is the writing, while gathering your opinion from a speedrun that obviously is going to skip all the writing, makes it pretty obvious what side of that polarized fanbase you want to fall under.
TGH salvaging the cringe and cuckery that went down during the metroid run and doing a great job of it. I hate Undertale but the dude's run was solid and he managed to raise the spirits of everyone after all the bullshit that just went down.
Always sad when the event ends. I genuinely look forward to this every year.
Summer games done quick, July 2nd - 9th.
RIP AGDQ 2017, was a good week for the most part
