Edit: well, forgot to bring magic mitigation so had to repeat ++, but it was a pretty nice victory.

Well, holy fuck. Thought I could scrape by CM =/ Not happening, AoE is way overkill without Wall.

Yea that's what I said. Tried without Wall and was like "newp fuck that". Once I added Wall it was cake. I just don't have the synergy.

Managed CM without wall, but lost edward along the way. Used shell, divine guardian, lightning res accessories, and used rosa's medica + magic blink like crazy. First time in a long while I've run out of hones on people.

Is Ultimate Defense really as high as Some people says? or is it still easy to do it with Melees with Saint cross etc

I had no problem using a melee team. Dr. Mog is drunk.

Frickin Rydia had the Mushmaster at half HP after one command. Pecil was on Draw Fire and healing duty (and Shellga) while Golbez was on Draw Magic and Banishing Strike duty (plus bursting). Edward was my Faithga + Haste, Rosa was Protectga and healing, and Rydia was dishing out pain.

I could have honestly dropped shared Shellga for a +mind armor on Pecil, given Rosa Shellga, and ignored protect entirely, but oh well. I didn't need Banishing Strike either, as Mushmaster was dead on turn 3. After that it was just using the AoE burst commands.

Edward was ganged up on while I was recasting Faithga, but I luckily loaded up Rydia with Thundaja and Chain Thundaga as a failsafe. Bahamut may have been a better option, or like I said ignoring Banishing Strike entirely on Golbez and adding a spell for him.

1/1. RW was obviously Ashe's Burst.

Is Ultimate Defense really as high as Some people says? or is it still easy to do it with Melees with Saint cross etc

Lightning was hitting for 9999 with Firaga Strike under Shout and no breakdowns on the enemy. Pecil for 6k per hit with SC, up to 8k with AB and FB.
Short answer: lolno.

Here's my U+ setup:


RW was SG, easy fight.

Ran CM for U++ as well. Swapped Cecil and Golbez for FuSoYa and Edge. Used Wall for RW.

Just popped Faithga and then went to town with Meteor/Ruinga/Bahamut/Valefor/Thunder Scroll. Nothing fancy. 1/1.

I like to think that they mis-labeled them and it was supposed to be U++ then U+

Ult: Holy and fire physicals wrecked him.
Ult+: Had to restart to bring lightning res. Used Ashe BSSB and lightning res and the spoony one still died. Used rydia and tellah in parallel, with rydia using summons for the rest of the match, which did enough DPS to win.
Ult++: Forgot shellga and only had sent grim, only had ixion and soul breaks for AOE...and still killed everything before calcabrina pop. Much easier than ult+.

went with a full mage party for U+ CM, mastered with full medals.

stupidly forgot to swap tellah's actual bomb core relic in for the U+ fight, although it didn't make much of a difference in practice. last gasp is actually super busted, after it lands causes any pending actions to cast instantly, and leaves each party member with an additional instant cast charge.

only tweak i made for U++ was to give edward the protectga song, so i could get full buffs/mitigation up in one round.

I don't get it, I'm going in with essentially this setup, but once the middle guy gets to about 50% HP (which is like 2 rounds) he hits me with back to back ultimate thundagas and everyone drops to the floor...

Change in strat - shoulda went with this to begin with.

Once Sentinel's Grimoire was up Tellah and Kain steamrolled this. Cant believe how much easier it was.
I honed Lightning Dive thinking I would need it - Kain used it once, then kept getting hit so much his BSB was ready every turn and I just spammed his BSB.
No Medals lost, only one Ulitmate Thundaga which did about 800 to shell'd/grim'd PT

Edit 2:

Used same PT for next battle but swapped Edward for Tyro - Dusk Decree zerg worked, all dolls dead before merge.

Went 1/1 np on CM, however I did have natural Hastemarch, so was able to RW Wall.

1/3 U+. ez pz but I failed twice because of bad timing with SSB casts, wall, Thundaga etc.


0/1 U++. I'm not worried about it but I assumed I could just go in and AoE spam but that's not quite true; the dolls still hit hard and healing/mitigation is still important. so I'll come back in a bit. this is where I wish I had native wall because I need to RW Dusk Decree.


probs come back with MM + SSB on Selphie, Draw Fire + SSB on Beatrix and Faris with AoE magic down dance. that should be enough.

You really don't need Dusk's Decree for U++ but you'll need honed summons and a MAG boost at least.
