there's this weird bias where macro investors get blamed for everything they've made money off of. The few people who saw mortgage bonds were piles of poo poo made a lot of money shorting them in <2008... but had nothing to do with the housing crash

if soros really was that powerful he'd have a hell of a lot more money than he does (net worth@ 25b). Quick google searching reveals he's got almost 5b in investments... and his hedge fund, which isn't managed by him, has holdings of 25b
