    Spoiler: show

I walked by an anarchist band in Franklin Square bitching about how the Women's March got funding and they don't (lol?). Insufferable people are always going to say insufferable things.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Minor suggestions to your thought process:

    1. Women are not forced to choose work and family. They are forced to either work or stay home with family. Sounds similar, but the former is a forced choice, the other is just forced. There are many articles that talk about how depending on the situation a woman can't afford to stay home if she wants to, and others can't afford to go to work (depending on area for childcare costs and housing costs). Few have a choice at all. I assume this is what you meant, just felt it better to take the word "choice" out of it.

    2. I agree maternity leave should be a top priority, but don't dismiss paternity leave as something for the father. Because women's "body's undergo devastating, in some cases life-threatening, physical change" they need that extra caretaker. I know, anecdote, but w/e, my husband couldn't stay home with my first, he stayed home for 8 weeks with my second. It. Was. Glorious. It's not even about him. It was about me actually getting to take a nap while he cooked/cleaned. Imagine undergoing surgery producing this satan spawn that is attached to your chest 24/7 that doesn't let you sleep more than two hours at a time, and trying to do all the house work while said spawn is attached to your chest. My coworker is a new grandmother and her daughter lives across the country. She spent three weeks with her during xmas break to help with the newborn. Came back, three days later she had to fly out again because her daughter was having PPD like no tomorrow (and her husband was at work). I don't speak for all women, but I'd rather have a shorter maternity leave with help then a longer leave with no help. It would be interesting to see how many women who have experienced both ways feel.

This almost certainly isn't a cap of Steve Austin's real account and I don't care:

In Sweden parents have a right to 480 days of parental leave, which can be split amongst both parents as they please. 60 days are reserved for each parent, so the mother can't take out all days herself. Additionally, 30 days of those are days where both parents can be home at the same time. Usually the mother takes the first 240 days, and the father takes the last 240 days. Also, each parent has the right to cut down their work day to 75% as long as one of their children is under 8 years old.

It's actually more common than not in Sweden with paternal leave. Quite often you can see men walking around with a stroller or playing with their children alone in the park.

This is very cool. It's always nice to see people of BG or those within one degree of separation involved in national affairs.

Melissa Benoist was spotted marching, holding a sign saying "good luck grabbing this prissy it's made of steel".

She plays Supergirl, for those that don't follow.
