Yeah, that face is certainly hard to look at. So much work done.

If you told me that a few house democrats think this plan is "Confuse republicans for voting for wrong Ryan as Speaker" I would not be surprised at this point.
I have nothing wrong with Pelosi*, but man she became a right nobody once she was in the minority. For someone who was able to whip her caucus hard I have no idea what happened.
*In general, neo-liberal terms that the democrats are these days.
rumors are swirling Secretary of Labor Tom Perez is prepping to challenge Ellison in what would be a rehash of the moderate Democrat vs far-left progressive fight that defined their primary season. the Obama administration is apparently not the biggest fan of Ellison and is casting about for alternatives.
Sigh.
THANKS OBAMA
Wasn't Perez on the VP shortlist?
yerp. During his time as Secretary of Labor the DOL passed some very important rules to the administration including the Overtime Rule which a judge just placed an injunction against last night and the Fiduciary rule which most likely does not survive the early months of Trump's presidency. They've also opened the door for states to introduce retirement plans by saying they do not need to be ERISA compliant and its expected they will green light large cities to do the same.
I'm glad that he's getting some competition. Though considering Keith's support I don't know if it'll matter. He's got the Senate leadership behind him.
I don't know if Pelosi has thrown any support yet.
Pelosi re-elected to U.S. House Democratic leadership post
Pelosi's surrogates used against Ryan that he retained his seat while the district went for Trump, as if though that is some sort of attack and not the actual fucking problem with this election.Pelosi, 76, a Californian who has been in Congress for 30 years and led the party in the House for 14 of them, defeated 43-year-old Tim Ryan, a seven-term representative from the Youngstown area of northeastern Ohio in a 134-63 vote, aides said.
So democrats are going to be a minority party for another seventy years.“He didn’t even carry his district for Hillary Clinton,” Pelosi said with a laugh, “so I don’t know why he’s saying that.”
Wow.
2016 the year hell froze over.
Why is anyone surprised?
Because you'd think losing an election where your side had every possible advantage and Donald Trump as the opposition leader would be a wake-up call.

No, I expect them to continue being fucking idiots. Par for the course.
I was a big fan of Pelosi for a long time, but I really don't know how you don't change leadership after getting mauled in three of the last four elections.
Blame gerrymandering all you want, but almost no case has been made for the retaking the house since 2010, and all signs were Pelosi wasn't going to fight too hard for it.
It's bad for 2018. A fresh, young leadership team could show that the democrats are going to start taking leftists seriously, but instead it seems like more of the same neoliberal, center-rightish, pro-business shit from democrats.
it's getting to the point where I don't agree with people who voted for Trump... but I understand.
in what world is Nancy Pelosi center-right or pro-business
The Nancy Pelosi who helped passed Romneycare, soon to be Trumpcare.
