After a couple massive CNN and Quinnipiac polls, the Dem advantage on the generic ballot is back up to +10.

This pro-white house party swing that we had been experiencing since the New Year lines up with typical midterm swings according to this analyst, and should have been expected.

Talint is gonna love this one.
After the Vegas shooting, DCCC advised Dems not to "politicize" the shooting but rather only offer thoughts and prayers.
I'll have you know I can send 800 thoughts and prayers a minute.
Dems swung another two state legislative seats tonight, one in Connecticut, one in New Hampshire. Failed to swing a deep red Kentucky seat, but still outperformed Hillary by 28 points in the district.

He made a model incorporating special elections and generic ballot (come November) since 1994. Fits pretty tightly along the line, if we can hang onto the generic ballot lead we have (if not expand it), the special elections are suggesting a large victory in the House.
Do you have any good resources regarding the generic ballot, in particular it's rate of predictive success? Cause while I'm sure people would vote for a fictional democrat, I have no faith in real democrats to not squander that good will with stuff like thoughts and prayers.
Or DCCC trying to make candidates to take conservative stances on gun regulation?
9 months is an eternity in politics in the best of times, in the Trump era it may as well be 9 years.
We are barely 400 days into the Trump presidency.

Even 18-24 months away from a midterm they have considerable predictive power (unless 9/11 happens in the meantime)

Well, if I'm being sincere:
There's something to be said about shutting up and letting your opponents (GOP) simply take the punches. The problem is:
1. Offering "thoughts and prayers" in a political climate that is absolutely tired of this response is fucking laughable. "Now is not the time" would be a shit answer too, but at least it's not "thoughts and prayers". Actually suggesting to say "thoughts and prayers" shows just how fucking clueless they are.
2. I read shit like this.
It comes off as democrats would rather deflect everything onto Russia, rather than take a stance, in a political environment that is sick and tired of not getting its way with all gun-related matters. If anything, the letter doesn’t actually answer any of the questions Wyden initially issued, which focused on any Russian funding wholesale, not just funding limited to the election. (Nor does the letter mention Russians’ attempts to use the NRA to lobby the White House.) A Wyden aide told ThinkProgress that the senator “is reviewing the NRA’s response and considering additional follow-up questions.”
Nancy Pelosi Just Endorsed a Congressman Who Opposes Abortion and Gay Rights
The Dem establishment is bad and fucking lol at anyone who defends them.
"Yes. I do." is also one of the strongest statements on supporting a candidate I've ever read. /s
And as Gred has pointed out. Even groups like Emily's List are funding his primary challenger as opposed to him.
Right, in no way could this possibly be read as Pelosi trying to consolidate power and find new allies where none used to exist. Silly me.
Weird though. I thought purity tests were bad?
