Yeah RE7 was really good, but that doesn't really excuse the rest of the shit they've been doing. And we are still waiting the on the DLC that was originally supposed to arrive in may.

I object to the premise that people "stopped liking Capcom" 10 years ago and not, say, 20 years ago.
If you can say that people didn't like Capcom from 2007-2017 (e.g. all of SF4 and SF5, all of MVC3, most of Monster Hunter and Dead Rising), you can basically pick any point in history after the release of SSF2 and say the same thing.
RE7 is fine since it just copies the more successful types of survival horror and combines them with RE herbs and ammo everywhere.
Hi my name is hypersensitivity to hyperbole nice to meet you.
But yeah it's been about 10 years since RE4 so that seems about right. I guess I started a bit earlier with BoF though.
modern capcom seems to be able to satisfy exactly one segment of their fanbase at a time, while alienating all the other ones. for every return-to-form like RE7 there's an SF5-style fall from grace, and for every generation-definer like SF4 we get a devil may cry: devil may cry reboot that absolutely nobody asked for.
On a funnier note, I watched the mvci story on YouTube for shits and giggles the other night. It was so god damn hilarious lmao. Felt like every line out their mouth was forced advertisement.
Rocket Raccoon: Hey Dante of the acclaimed Devil May Cry franchise! Can I use the girls? Your iconic weapons Ebony and Ivory!?
Dante: Here you go Rocket Raccoon. You truly are a Guardian of the Galaxy!
Don't forget what they've done to Megaman and Breath of Fire
I mean, what are we talking about here? Are we talking about when they killed off BoF during the Clinton Administration? Or when Megaman went 12 years without a numbered sequel? Or when the last MMX game came out in 2005?
I understand if people want to do the ritual airing of grievances, but it seems to me that the statute of limitations has pretty much ended for stuff like "Why isn't there a new Darkstalkers game?"
If your problem is that Capcom have always been fuck ups and not just recently (being the last 10+ years) then just say that lol
Otherwise I have no idea what the point of your posts are.
Or wait, are you upset that people are angry at Capcom on a forum?
so what i'm getting out of this is: capcom has always been wildly inconsistent, and so that's why you're all wrong and MVCI is actually an excellent game and also SF5 too...? in all of the posts and arguments spiderdan has made throughout the current FGC era, i don't think i've ever been able to suss out what his actual position on anything is, or if one even exists.
Capcom hasn't changed in the last 25 years. Their quality is right where it has been that entire time.
SF5 is no worse than SF3 or SF4, games that people lavish praise on now (but bashed for their design choices when they were new).
MVCI is a game with subpar graphics and good gameplay. The gameplay has some flaws, but what I consider to be the flaws (i.e. weak zoning) are much worse in basically every other current game, including ones that people praise wildly in this thread (TK7, DBFZ).
That about cover it?
My block list consists of him and macross.
Macross is leaps and bounds better in every way.
I havent been in this thread for awhile now. Glad the new topic is MVC:I.
I see Capcom somehow managed to release a game more trash than SFV...

Thankfully, the team for Monster Hunter games are separate from most of the fuck-ups that are around Capcom in general.
And RE was pretty dumpsterfire tier for a good bit anyway until RE7, and I thought RE7 was just..ok. I feel like to truly love that game you had to play VR, but it did ok.
World looks amazing tho. I'm so excited.
I forgot to mention one point about Capcom:
The Capcom of today spends hundreds of thousands of dollars supporting the FGC. In any other era, Capcom's idea of FGC support was "get bent, gaijin neckbeards." To the best of my knowledge, from 1993-2012 there was exactly one Capcom-organized event in America: the '98 Alpha 3 nationals in San Jose. And yet somehow, the fact that Capcom "dumps thousands of dollars on promoting SF5" is considered a valid rebuttal as to why SF5 is a Terrible Game despite it's record tournament entrants, repeat ESPN broadcasts, E-league, what have you.
P.S. Happy to put my arguments up against Weltall's any day of the the week. Anyone who thinks his points are sane and reasonable compared to mine is probably better off blocking me, because his nonsense is beyond hope. He claims to be some sort of FGC old-timer, but every single argument he makes is exactly what you would expect from someone who started playing fighting games in 2009.
i want the original SNK crew back, played street fighter because it was always more popular but neo geo was the best system ever made in my opinion. just look how good the stage art still looks today: https://imgur.com/gallery/9JUQg. i'm old and biased but even gg or dbz doesn't look this good to me. this isn't really in response to anything , but i'm posting it anyway
MOTW is probably the best looking fighting game ever made and it's unfair to compare other games to it.
I think the art direction on MOTW is much better (and I prefer SS2's art style for that period of game), but I can see your point.
