July was the hottest month in recorded human history

I thought this was posted for some reason.
Greenland Lost 12.5 Billion Tons of Ice in a Single Day
The amount of ice collectively lost last Wednesday and Thursday would be enough to cover Florida in almost five inches of water.
it may take some economic heresy if we're to right this ship
http://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/...uld-save-earth“The non-growing economy is anathema to an economist,” writes Jackson. “But the idea of a continually growing economy is anathema to an ecologist. No subsystem of a finite system can grow indefinitely.”
after a 30-year update to Limits of Growth, we're now looking a projected total collapse of resources by 2030, up from 2072 originally

The proposed vessel would ply polar waters, but scientists have their doubts about its effectiveness.
An interesting idea but I agree with what the one scientist said.
You cant magically make things cold. They'd end up making things hotter trying to make icebergs. If it was that easy to make things cold without having to use/make energy/heat then this planet would be in a much different situation lol.

Yes, this is from the El Paso shooter's manifesto.
Eco-fascism is going to rise up as "climate denial" becomes less tenable on the right. You see this in far-right European parties already - the despair of the climate crisis mixed with racism and xenophobia is a toxic brew.
As the climate continues to worsen, what I fear is we hit a point where "going green" expenses become subsumed by the material realities of adaptation to climate and the politics becomes lizard-brain "hunker down, just look out for yourself" hindering collective action necessary to reach our goals. If Central America becomes unlivable not because of violence but because of climate, the refugee pressures on us will get really bad.

Ecofascism leans heavily on Malthusian ideas, particularly the perils of a growing population. Just as Malthus warned about the “iron law of wages”, Hitler wrote about the dangers of rebelling against the “iron laws of nature”. These analyses, of course, always concluded that the problem was with the existence of specific types of human. By this framework, genocide on an unthinkable scale is the only real way to avert ecological collapse. The main concern of ecofascists is not if genocide is necessary, but how to enact it and on whom.
