They underestimate how massive the sun is. We could throw the entire planet into the sun and it wouldn't do much. Maybe shade a portion of the galaxy for a bit before being engulfed

Launching it into the sun for cheap and making plastic deposits in landfills are comparably bad things.

We didn't use disposable plastics a hundred years ago so I reject the idea that it is impossible to live without. We should just tax durable consumable goods in a way that reflects the cost to future generations.

Reduce plastic use is the better alternative to throwing it in a landfill. Reusing of course is great. Letting the market conceive of viable biodegradable alternatives is fantastic, especially with added jobs.

Launching shit to space would require careful planning to not contaminate other celestial bodies with earth germs, lest we "find life" somewhere in our solar system.
