If we aren't pulling kerosene from fossil fuels then we are keeping that CO2 embodied in the dead plants. This method of using EXISTING carbon dioxide prevents the extraction and emission of new CO2.
Pair this with smart forestry around the plant and you can create a net negative carbon footprint with the new forest sequestering CO2.
Apologies, I am not familiar with all of the abilities to get CO2. The problem is, you have to get it from somewhere, so where are they getting it? If the CO2 doesn't already exist in the air, it means it's coming from somewhere else, so then converting it into fuel and then burning it WILL add more CO2 to the air, which isn't beneficial at all.
The point is source the C02 from the air, yes.
Ok but that's not what you were talking about. You said you don't know much about CO2, thinking it didn't come out of thin air, but it like literally does. You pull it out of thin air. We're not running out of CO2 in the air anytime soon, and if we are well just send you to the gym or something

God I have to phrase everything perfectly lest people assume I don't know how plants work.
I'm saying I don't know how we get CO2. For all I know they get CO2 by mixing gases together. I'm saying, as far as I am aware, we don't have good enough tech that can pull CO2 out of the air effectively or fast enough to counter the rate at which we are emitting it, otherwise we'd already be doing it and Global Warming wouldn't be a thing.
There are carbon capture devices that pull it from the air. Usually that CO2 gets turned into a solid.
The article you were discussing was specifically about using airborne CO2 as a fuel source. Not about sinking CO2, but using the existing CO2 that's already available. Yes, that fuel then burns and turns back into CO2, but the purpose is that it is a net zero emission. That CO2 already existed.
Alternatively, we continue refining crude oil for jet fuel and release new CO2 when we burn it.
The point is to stop digging up as much carbon as we are now. Reusing the carbon up here is much preferred
