I enjoyed The Purple Pig
Just get a shitton of cured meat and cheese samplers and then maybe get a dessert.
I'm going to throw in my hat for restaurants for Untitled, at 111 W Kinzie. They do burlesque shows and live music in one room, fine dining in another, and america's largest whiskey bar (400 brands iirc) in the other.
Overall great experience, food, and drinks!
Some may call this lunacy but I say skip the field museum. Unless you don't have cool museums where you live.
The Chicago Art Institute is fantastic even if you're not an art head
The bean and millenium park are right next to the art institute and a good place to take pics. fun!
the aquarium is lit
never done the planetarium
the Navy Pier is worth a quick visit if you aren't crunched for time. The ferris wheel is good times but don't expect to be able to kill more than an hour or two at the pier.
The Wendella Boats Chicago river tour is friggin fantastic https://www.wendellaboats.com/ the other ones might be even better but I've only ever done Wendella... twice!
and seriously you have to go to the signature lounge for at least one drink
also you could consider seeing a cheap burlesque show at Gorilla Tango Theater, they do spoof shows for Star Wars and Game of Thrones, maybe some others. I've only see the Star Wars one. Its in the bucktown/wicker park neighborhood which is loaded with cool restaurants and bars
Shedd Aquarium is garbage. Go to MSI. Uber there should be cheap from downtown

I actually haven't been to a museum in long time, same for the gf, so we might do a day of aquarium and museum. We haven't done an aquarium since we've started dating, over 5 years by the time we're in Chicago, so we definitely want to do that. The Field Museum was right next to it, so we thought it might be worth doing the CityPass and saving a few bucks on all the admission charges. It includes the skydeck and planetarium so I thought that was a good day and a half of typical tourist things.
Anywhere to go dancing that anyone would recommend?
there's a place that looks like a castle that i think has multiple clurbs in it, Went there in like 2012 with my wife back when she was just my broad. A BG local will know mo fo sho.
A place I wanted to try that becomes a club at the end of the night is called Joy District. Never made it but looks cool http://joychicago.com/
Salodin, if you're up for something lowkey on a Tuesday, the g/f and I, some friends, and family hang out at Mad River Bar and Grill. They host Trivia that night, been doing it for 4?-ish years now. Can't say it will be the coolest thing you do but we hang around and drink all night, sometimes even win a little money.
