    Home Stereo-ish stuff

Guys I'm looking for a series of speakers I can hang in the house that will allow the wife to connect her phone up and play music that sync together so if she is on the first floor playing music it is also on the 2nd and 3rd floor and she doesn't have to swap between speakers.

Bonus points if it has multiple configs and I can hook it up to the TV and play the TV through only the 2nd floor speakers when it's getting TV input.

Well it isn't cheap, but Sonos is the slickest implementation of that. I tell people 50% of the price is for "quality" (i.e. good but not staggering) and 50% of the price is for how smoothly it all works. The music would have to be one of their supported services, but that covers all the major ones I believe. You can send TV to other speakers, but POSSIBLY that might tie up the soundbar (could mute it, but not run it independently). That's one thing I've never tried. The playbar is optical input only, so it's that or bust.

Not suggesting that is the best or only way, just giving a little info on how one option works. The promise of Chromecast Audio was largely what you are looking for, but it hasn't materialized yet (especially the TV part).

I love my Sonos so much. The price is worth it to me.

    I have 3 play 5s, 2 play 3s, 1 play 1, 1 sub, 1 playbar.

Ok Spicy, so it's good to talk to someone who has it. It works over wifi? I wanna be specific - not bluetooth, wifi?

From what I understand, it uses 2.4g for your control of it and sets up its own 5g network for interconnectivity.
