The irony is that these Ubisoft games are all on Steam already. This is basically just a carrot to try to break up the Steam stranglehold.

Yeah, most uPlay games are sold on Steam but have to be run through uPlay anyways, which is probably the biggest chip on my shoulder for the service. At least EA had the balls to stop putting their stuff for sale on Steam after they made Origin.
I logged in to get them on my account, whether or not ill ever actually download and play them though... who knows (^:
Kind of off topic but Steam has most of the other Assassin's Creed franchise on sale right now. I'm enjoying AC3 now, would you guys recommended any of the others?
Assassin's Creed Syndicate has been pretty fun. I am still very early in the game, but I do like some of the changes/additions they have made to the controls.
There is actually a stealth button(a on xbox controller, iirc) that pulls your characters hood over his head and makes him crouch and move a little slower. So it seems like its actually an option to play this title using stealth.
There is also two different free run modes, right trigger and a will free run upwards, right trigger holding b will free run downwards towards the ground.
The only thing I don't really care for is the grappling hook. It makes things a little too easy to get around I feel, but I bet most people find that as a welcome addition.
In syndicate you also switch back and forth between two characters, a male and a female, who have different skills and equipment(based on how you set them up).
I have it for PC and it was running like absolute ass on ultra, it was ok for a bit, but there is a sequence in the beginning where you're fighting on top of a train that just killed my fps, but I am sure that is just because I took very little time to tweak it and instead just went "hur dur I am gonna crank it to 11 and see how it holds up."
It's also not like I have a high end video card or anything either though, gtx 760 4gb and an amd fx8350(x8 @ 3.5ghz stock), 16gb of ram.
Before that I played black flag, and that was a pretty fun game. Much more of a pirate game than an assassin's creed game though. I didn't really care for the pirate ship battles in black flag, it seemed that there was a ton of content for that portion of the game, but unfortunately it is not part of the game I really wanted explore. Now if you want a pirate game black flag is phenomenal, you just have to know that's what you're getting into before you start playing, you will spend alot of time sailing the seas.
