No I think he was talking about the part where they kept saying the ELECTED president of the US doesn't get to make a supreme court pick because theres only 9 (i think?) months left in his term.

He may have been referring to refusing to hold confirmation hearings on a Justice during Obama's term.
Edit:too slow
I'm honestly not sure Republican voters would see it as anything more than an "I win" button for them and think nothing more of it.
oh well then yeah not holding Senate hearings for a Justice for 9 months is totally analogous to taking away the right to vote
Try 12 months. They held that shit for a year. Then again, one time driving Uber I had someone ask me my opinion on that, brought up a couple of Supreme Court Nominee's that went through with the sitting President had <6 months in office and actually tried to say that would never happen.
Garland was nominated March 16th, so just over 10 months remaining in Obama's term.
I didn't know you liked McConnel AG. Ew gross.
Fiye that's a level of memeing that is beyond me i'm afraid
i do think it fuckin spectacular that a fuckin tweet from Mike fuckin Huckabee has you all seeing a Gotterdamerung that would reverse two centuries of increasingly expansive franchise. no wonder you guys lose elections so often it is spectacular the contempt in which you hold the American people.
a fair point, and why i opposed blueballing Garland, but if you really can't see the difference between that and, again, not figuratively, but literally, taking away the individual's right to vote for their Senators, and giving that right to party elites in state capitals, i honestly don't know what to say to convince you. it would be an unprecedented reduction of the franchise that would impact every single voter regardless of political affiliation and would strip away popular sovereignty for sake of enhanced party control, which in an age of tea parties and neoliberal shill! and insurgent swamp drains seems shall we say contrary to the prevalent winds.
Average California individual insurance premiums going up 12.5% in 2018 (or 3.3% increase if people shop around to the lowest-priced option in the same medal tier). My insurer Anthem is exiting the SoCal market, so I once again have to shop for a new plan. Fortunately there's 11 different insurer options in California (not in every area but many in Los Angeles) to choose from, but it's still a pain in the ass.
I also discovered that the "cost-sharing reductions" that Trump keeps threatening to not pay only apply to on-exchange Silver plans. If they aren't paid, Silver plan premiums will skyrocket, and the result will be that Silver plans will cost more than Gold plans, which is ridiculous and obviously upside-down.
Almost as if we should have some sort of universal health care so we can avoid shit scenarios like this.
Tyven was right. The latest Chapo is easily their best one since election day.
Also Democrats sent McConnell a letter saying "here's what we're looking at for tax reform" and he announced today he's not seeking any bipartisan input.

They're going to have to gut welfare programs to pay for this right?
