Not sure, if it was a bargaining chip it prob would have been in there from the beginning. When both drafts came out it was surprising that neither included the mandate repeal. We’ll see. New managers amendment added tonight by Hatch that I’ve not seen and sen Scott still planning to add another amendment once he can come up with the $23 billion needed to drop whatever he’s trying to drop from the current bill.
Not sure who is ready to play hero. Definitely not Ron Johnson, he’s just being difficult.
Do they give a shit if it's Byrd approved? They didn't seem to care when it came to Obamacare repeal. I seem to recall an article about skating reconciliation rules when Byrd squashed one form of the heslthcare bill.
Johnson's a no and that put them within a 1 vote margin. Is anyone else significant (Murkowski, Collins, McCain) committed to a no?
Listen, I just want to know if I can write off my fucking pencils, because if I can't, none of these bitches are getting any pencils.
youll find out the week after thanksgiving. I'm not even sure if the elimination of teacher expense deduction is in the senate version. my brain is more addled than usual with all this bullshit. At least with healthcare these morons had the courtesy to not do their bills at the same time.
No pencils but you can write off your private jet. You've got one of those right? They give those to teachers? I've been out of school for awhile.
Wanted to ask about the bolded part. Is there nothing in the constitution or any parliamentary rule that says one chamber of Congress can't just fucking abdicate it's duty on legislation to the other? This is the second time at least that Ryan has just removed his spine, wrapped it in some crumpled legislative draft paper, and thrown it at McConnell.
The House is filled with idiot clowns and has a much cleaner Republican majority, so the Senate is the real sticking point. Just think about Paul Ryan every time you think about the House, because he's a perfect example. Lots of sound bites, tries to look good and keep his job, basically has no principles he's willing to defend.
I hope they get slammed over Thanksgiving.
looks like murkowski is another potential no on the tax bill
This is a pretty awful opinion that is significantly worse than anything you just chided people about with regard to Franken (which no one was trying to minimize, only saying that comparisons to Roy Moore were a false equivalency, considering he is a literal child rapist).
A husband or wife shouldn't be made to hold the check for their spouse's transgressions, unless they specifically aid them in carrying them out. The fact that Hillary stayed with Bill is not some mark against her, because many marriages endure infidelity. Hell, my own father was serially unfaithful to my mother for a period, but they later reconciled and moved on years later.
To paint Hillary as an emotionless robot whose only reason for remaining with her husband was her career trajectory is to hold fast to decades of misogynist republican propaganda. They had a long history and a child together, which usually means a fair amount of emotional codependency.
She was squarely the victim of Bill's infidelity, and had to bear that burden in a terribly public manner. Kindly fuck off blaming women for their spouses' wandering?
Edit: And frankly, anyone who knows anything about Hillary Clinton's life would never seriously say her number one priority was her own power/career, considering she sacrificed the better part of her life and career for her husband's -- visible as early as her move to Arkansas, where she was miserable, rather than embracing her own political ambitions.
oi im laffin
Honest question, has Hillary ever really opened up and talked about what happened with Bill in any interview or one of her books?
Staying married to a guy who committed sexual assault harms careers?
Man. Melania needs to up her game.
