Obamacare was debated in committee for literally months and months and a simple interpretation the language of the bill was missed by the authors fucked them out of requiring states to take the medicaid expansion. The language of this bill will be fucked and the focus of court battles for years.

Vote is apparently gonna happen tomorrow morning. They're rewriting major parts of the bill. There's still holdouts. They don't have the votes or they'd have voted tonight. Apparently Corker and some deficit hawks want a trigger to raise taxes if (when) the bill doesn't promote the needed growth. And Collins wants Murray/Alexander passed (which won't do shit will do little if the mandate is repealed).

Donor Relief Act is apparently at 49 votes. Flake and Corker are holding out at the moment because of the JCT report that it'll add a trillion to the deficit. Corker wanted a trigger to roll back the tax cuts if growth expectations were not met. Senate parliamentarian ruled that the amendment wouldn't pass reconciliation rules. Jeff Flake is with Corker. They'll probably vote together. Susan Collins is the other hold out. And I don't think she's particularly anxious to ruffle feathers in a "swing" state when she's up for reelection in a presidential year with the one of the most unpopular presidents in history.
