That's pretty much what I feel like they're doing. Thinking this will somehow backfire so go along with it and say nothing. Status quo.
Honestly, what can they do at this point?

Go out and drive home the point that the ACA repeal will literally kill people while offering ways to improve ACA since they've already conceded it is flawed. Take advantage of all this energy that has been generated in opposing ACA repeal by showing their ability to lead.
The fact that elected democrats don't use this opportunity to espouse the virtues of a single payer system shows just how much democrats don't fucking want single payer, or any form of universal coverage.
Been on the road all day but apparently Trump claims to have flipped all 14 House R's that were a "no" or "leaning no" on AHCA.
Freedom Caucus says they make no guarantees but we'll seeee
Are there any amendments proposed or being considered to be proposed? I assume FC wants to move up Medicaid stuff to 2018, and I assume it will be shot down. Anything else?
GOP speeding toward vote on altered healthcare bill
I'm both excited and scared about this bill. I hope that they don't get enough votes to pass it, but at the same time the bill is so awful that I can only imagine it'll be political suicide once it starts to take effect, at least for some in Congress. The White House on Friday won support from conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC) leaders by agreeing to give states the option to impose work requirements on Medicaid recipients and to block grant Medicaid instead of the cap system in the bill.
GOP leaders are using the RSC endorsement — and new words of support from President Trump — to try to build momentum for the measure.
But the far-right Freedom Caucus is still largely opposed to the measure, and there are still serious doubts about whether the bill has enough votes to pass yet.
...
In addition to the Medicaid agreement with the RSC, the White House and House leaders are also eyeing increasing the tax credits in the bill, something that could bring centrists on board.
Centrist Republicans have been pushing for changes to the tax credits in the bill so that they would give more financial help to low-income people and older people, whom they worry would not be given enough help to afford coverage under the current bill.
so, uh, you mean the ACA?give more financial help to low-income people and older people
The only amendment I know of is the one mentioned by Airen's post that they are calling the "Manager's Amendment". Doesn't look like there's mention of the other part of the amendment which would allow states to accept block grant money to fund Medicaid in lieu of the GOP's per capita plan.
What Archi said. They'll take what they can get now and work on more in the future "phases"
there was some seriously hard whipping this morning along with POTUS, VPOTUS, Pubis, and Bannon telling the dissenters they got all they are gonna get and they aint gettin no more. I just cant imagine these idiots not biting the bullet
I don't disagree with anything being said here, really, but what gain is there in him saying he doesn't think it will pass if it's not true?
I saw Rand Paul saying its not passing congress as well
But by making that argument after saying he had spent hours and hours trying to work the bill, isn't he admitting to failure as a leader?
That's not really how people are going to hear it.
