Northam was ridiculed for a milquetoast, inoffensive campaign and won by 8.9 points, beating the polling average by over 5 points.

And the solution is to go left like Quist and James Thompson and lose by more than 5 points, not go moderate like Ossoff and Parnell to lose by less than 5.
