He argues them well in terms of speech, but not content. Shapiro is a canonical example of sophistry in the modern age.

Even when he argues for something I'm in favor of I can't help but cringe at his constant barrage of fallacious logic, no one should ever take him seriously.

I know that's what the stories are saying, but I will be pretty disappointed if they fail to extract any actual legislation from the Republicans pre-funding.

There is no reason to give up their only opportunity for leverage (within the next year) because Republicans sucked at taxes. This is their only chance to advance the agenda of sanity and they need to take it.

That's common in elections, any votes not counted, lost or thrown out are considered as votes for the losing party. If it changes the results it usually results in a new election.

In this country, dems own legislature and it's their fault the gov shut down. Reps own legislature and it's still dems fault if gov shuts down. It's ludicrous.
