This Dem Arizona rep is raising money to defeat his neighboring district Republican https://twitter.com/RubenGallego
this just hurts so much and is exactly what it was afraid of about a Repub being pres..Fuck the dnc for fucking everything up.
Or maybe you could direct that blame at the people who are actually fucking everyone over. Or the Russians. That works too. Acting like the DNC is the reason that conservative politicians are spiteful beings who are willing to let people die to give a massive tax cut to the wealthy is not constructive.
Can't wait for Trump to start a war with North Korea and everyone to blame Hillary for it.
When its the people who comfortably did a sit in protest until they got their vote on gun control. Only to stop after doing it for a night and did a big "shake the tin can"
They could do a lot better. They should do a lot better. But for now we have a house minority that says "No" to a single payer system.
What do you expect them to do? Shut down the government? Boycott votes? There is only so much they can do without resorting to full obstruction, and there's a reasonable fear that doing that would not help them retake Congress.
That said, 2018 is an opportunity for the grassroots to show that moving left is a viable path forward.
I'm personally of the mind that Democrats should be moving left and taking a hard line stance against working with Trump/Republicans, but I don't think it's constructive to be self-destructive and relitigate the past as a response to Republican actions.
I will not be outraged at the republicans for doing the exact evil shit everyone knew they were going to do when they got into power.
I will, however, direct my criticism to a failing democratic party that can't win elections, destroys enthusiasm, and can't be assed to fight for absolutely anything worth while.
"The republicans are worse, stop criticizing democrats" is such insipid thinking that leads to candidates like Hillary in the first place.
I'm glad doing the exact opposite of that worked well for republicans. Democrats don't even have a fucking message about the fucking ACA except 'Save it' and even then they didn't try. Jimmy Kimmel tried harder.

Hey everyone lets resist Trump but first hand me a letter of resignation we might fire you.Immediately after Perez's selection as party chairman in late February, an adviser to outgoing DNC Interim Chair Donna Brazile, Leah Daughtry, asked every employee to submit a letter of resignation dated April 15, according to multiple sources familiar with the party's internal workings.
A committee advising Perez on his transition is now interviewing staff and others as part of a top-to-bottom review process to decide not only who will stay and who will go, but how the party should be structured in the future.
Ah yes, collapse inward.
Checkmate, atheists.
In this situation the republicans did exactly what they were there to do, which is to represent their voters and what their voters want. Their voters wanted to get rid of obamacare. I cannot fault the representatives trying to follow through on that because that's what they were voted in to do. I may not like what their voters want, but they are following through nonetheless.
It should be noted that Trump is mostly irrelevant on this topic. There is not a single republican candidate that would have done differently. They all were of the opinion of getting rid of it.
So what needed to have happen was the Democrats winning. That is the only thing that would have saved obamacare. And they did such a piss poor job of the whole thing. Note: I still doubt Bernie was the one to win either. But you can't tell me out of ALL the democrats they could only find two crusty people that were so polarizing.
Except that they were lied to and misled about what Obamacare is and does. Most Republicans were telling their constituents that Obamacare was harming them while it generally did the opposite, meanwhile they actively worked to sabotage the program at every stop to make it less effective. Many rural healthcare markets are struggling because Republicans did not want to support them, because they did not want to support anything that could be positively associated with the Obama administration. In this situation the republicans did exactly what they were there to do, which is to represent their voters and what their voters want. There is no real argument against the fact that Republicans are actively working against many of the voters who voted them into office. The only question is whether those voters will believe the lies when Republicans try to convince them that AHCA would not responsible for the catastrophic loss of coverage for millions of Americans.
The idea that Republicans should not be held responsible for the consequences of their bad governance when they have total control of government just strikes me as absurd.
If the senate sends a bill back to the house that's remotely palatable to conservatives, it's 100% passing. There is NO way that the freedom caucus will be the ones that are solely responsible for Obamacare staying law of the land. It'll be political suicide. They'll get primaried nine ways to Sunday.
With that said, Mitch McConnell is a pure fucking evil political savant. No, this bill isn't hitting the floor. But one will. McConnell won't let the senate be the ones holding their dicks. And it'll still be fucking awful. And it'll get kicked to the house where it'll pass.
Anyway, side note. Probably obvious, but a note able amount of representatives stated (privately) that if the bill they voted on today became law on Monday, they wouldn't have had near the votes. So I'm curious what happens when the rubber meets the road.
Oh man, where do I begin....
Let's start with the fact that that only shows democrats. Democrats always liked Bernie. Just that many liked Hillary more, or found Bernie to be a higher risk (though they were both high risks).
And then, of course they fucking love him NOW. They have the oompa-loompa cheeto diaper king as president. I bet you could find a group voting high for Cosby at this point because at least he saves. Seeing how people respond to him now is utterly irrelevant to whether he would have won back then.
I honestly like to see the source and how many polled. Because the big thing republicans wanted to keep was the preexisting conditions clause, and from what I'm seeing from repubs, they are going to get to "keep it." (While ignoring the fact that it might be so expensive people can't afford to have it.)
