    Quick CBO hits:

    https://www.axios.com/house-gop-heal...420514707.html

23 million more uninsured (down from 24 million last score), $119B in savings (down from 150B). Insurance will be 4% cheaper in 2026 than under ACA in states that don't get waivers, 20% cheaper in states that get partial waivers, vary widely in states that get full waivers. Warns that states that get full waivers of ACA regulations will have their insurance markets severely disrupted.

Objection. Matt Bevin ran explicitly on dismantling KYnect, and was elected.

And only wonks care about budget scores.

In comparison with the estimates for the previous version of the act, under the House-passed act, the number of people with health insurance would, by CBO and JCT’s estimates, be slightly higher and average premiums for insurance purchased individually—that is, nongroup insurance—would be lower, in part because the insurance, on average, would pay for a smaller proportion of health care costs. In addition, the agencies expect that some people would use the tax credits authorized by the act to purchase policies that would not cover major medical risks and that are not counted as insurance in this cost estimate.
    Kinda hash summary there, CBO.

Greg Gianforte (GOP Candidate for the Montana House election) body slammed Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs for asking him about the new CBO score at a campaign event he was holding tonight.

Its their motto. Deny what really happened and pretend to be the victum.

And hope the person you assaulted is not white so the police will side with you.

    I'd be scared too.

I have it on good authority that interacting in a negative way, any negative way, towards a Nazi (although I don't think he's a Nazi tbh) is bad.

At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the man, as he moved on top the reporter and began yelling something to the effect of "I'm sick and tired of this!"
Man, when even Fox News is contradicting you, you have a problem. Of course the sheriff investigating this is a donor to Gianforte, so I doubt he will be arrested even though by all accounts he should be.

I have to wonder if GOP electeds are hoping he loses now so he doesn't become a liability for the 2018 midterms. Like does this dude think reporters are going to be less aggressive in DC? And by the audio, this sounded extremely mild as far as questions go.

Gonna be awkward when he wins. Too bad Rep. Grimm isn't still in the Congress so they could swap stories about threatening/assaulting reporters.

This is a nice summary for the Montana special election:
    http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign...ntana-election

    tl;dr:
    * The election is for a seat in the House of Representatives.
    * The Republican (a tech entrepreneur) was supposed to pull off an easy (double digit margin) win.
    * The Democrat (a country singer) has seen a groundswell of support (including some from the DNC).
    * The Republican is still massively outspending the Democrat.
    * Democrats are using this election as a testing ground for various attack vectors. It should show how vulnerable the less crazy Republicans are in the current political climate and perhaps make them fear a Trumpcare vote.

From the five minutes I spent reading about the two candidates, I doubt either has well-reasoned, fact-based positions on national policy issues. Because both candidates are vacuous, it's purely going to be a partisan election.
