And the solution is to go left like Quist and James Thompson and lose by more than 5 points, not go moderate like Ossoff and Parnell to lose by less than 5.

I guess we'll always have Jimmy Gomez, the shining beacon of leftist success?

I don't know what the answer is to winning deep red House districts.

But there's a variety of approaches being employed.

to be fair you could do this to me but replace rodgers with joe flacco

the last point i'll make re: this line of discussion is this:

the far-left hated Hillary's policies because she was perceived as a warhawking shill. I think she was weak on economic policy even though she was more progressive than her contemporaries. I am pretty much a complete deep state fuckface so I didn't have a lot of problems with her FP (no fly zone is pretty dumb) (you probably should not have sold uranium to Russia) and I don't think things like giving speeches to goldman sachs ppl mean shit.

but let's not forget how much hand-wringing their was over the notion of a minimum wage hike, and how simply non-credible the party's claims of being the only ones who could break up the banks and stop reaganomics or some shit.

let's also not forget she had slaves

Parnell wasn't supposed be as close as he did and Ossoff did worse than he should've based on general election data.

Also Parnell ran on dangers of AHCA, infrastructure investments, importing prescription drugs, and gun control citing Charleston shooting.

Ossoff wanted to eliminate government waste and increasing minimum wage at a rate that's agreeable with employers.

So...you're co-opting Parnell for the left with this Clinton orthodoxy platform? Or what's your point?

Maybe we need more ex-Goldman Sachs bankers?

imagine my shock when you've forgotten our discussion from the Corbyn thread where I said the need to go left is in already left districts of California, NYC, MA, etc. I'm fine with running centrist in GA-6 even tho it lost. I understand the need for legislators to appeal to their districts. It's important. Almost as important as ditching the cancerous leadership that hangs around the party like an albatross and the messaging that moves no one

Wonder why 55% didn't turnout and why Ossoff couldn't increase Dem turnout from 2016 congressional election. R turnout down 33% in this election and Dem turnout was exactly the same.

Yet your only excuse for the loss is "well it's deep red". Listen Robby Mook, it's deep red because Dems don't run good candidates and they don't give the left leaning people any reason to vote for them.

It's almost as if the Democrats contain 100% of the people committed to fact-based policies, and thus span a wide ideological spectrum.

you guys have the absolute worst memories, the 2007-2016 decade saw Democrats in control of the federal government far more often than Republicans. in terms of years:

    House: 4 Dem - 6 Repub
    Senate: 8 Dem - 2 Repub
    Presidency: 8 Dem - 2 Repub

2017-2026 is off to a rough start but stiff upper lip eh.

a solid strawman but ideally those with basic reading comprehension can discern that pushing back against the demonstrably false claims that 'all Democrats have done for 8.5 years is lose / Dems have 1 victory under Obama and nothing else' =/= Democrats are presently doing wonderfully at the state level

    115th United States Congress

When I say democrats only know losing, I'm including the state level because, ideally, the DNC and DCCC should be putting on candidates head over foot to stay in power. And well, they're losing.

When I look at the map, it still surprises me that we have 48 Senate seats. Really hope we don't get BTFO in 2018.
