Why is it that Donald Trump campaigns with the basic belief that Americans are losers and it's only the Democrats that internalize it?

PS. It's kind of funny that Republicans are having a hard time reaching a consensus faith-based position (on things like whether or not abortion should be part of healthcare) while Democrats are having a hard time reaching a consensus logic-based position (about everything that can be logically argued either way.)

    God fucking Damnit

2 lobbyists say bill has ACA tax credits w/ changes such as:
    350% FPL upper limit.
58% AV for benchmark plan. Reduces generosity of credits

Thanks Tyen. My fav part of the overview...

"Repeals Obamacare Taxes: Repeal costly Obamacare taxes that contribute to premium increases and hurt life-saving health care innovation, like the taxes on health insurance, prescription drugs, medical devices, and “high-cost” employer sponsored plans."

Those pesky taxes, constantly interfering with life-saving health care innovation. If we just stop burdening insurance companies and big pharma they'll save everyone!

Bleh. Off to be annoyed by the guts of it all.

They keep the Cadillac tax in the law for the purposes of making sure its budget-positive after 10 years, knowing it will never go into effect.

Not even "states can request waivers" - just gone for everyone at the end of 2019. Disastrous for maternity care and mental health.

BCRA sounds like a new type of staph infection that isn't covered under the BCRA.

AND there' no mandate or continuous coverage requirement.

So we no longer have a reason for healthy people to carry insurance to help keep costs low OR a requirement for essential health benefits OR protection for preexisting conditions.

Man I'm hard pressed to think of 3 Republican Senators with enough spine to block this.

Per solid source: at least 3 GOP sens (perhaps more) plan to announce public opposition to McConnell health bill later today. Developing

Since preexisting conditions are still covered (unless the particular treatment isn't part of the plan's benefits), this is a disaster for insurers too right? Healthy people aren't required to sign up, but if one of those healthy people gets cancer, they can just enroll then and can't be denied...

I'm not sure how preex will work when they rollback EHB. I'm under impression Preex protections are part of essential health benefits.

Unless the definition of "essential health benefits" is being expanded beyond the language used in the ACA, no I don't believe so. EHB is a different section than "guaranteed issue" (which prohibits denial for PEC)
