Controversial Voice Actor Chris Niosi Will Be Replaced In Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Nintendo plans to remove voice actor Chris Niosi from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, following accusations of abuse by former friends and girlfriends. He was previously replaced in the credits of mobile spin-off game Fire Emblem Heroes. In a statement, Nintendo confirmed that it will rerecord Niosi’s voiceovers and add the new voices in a future patch.
Chris Niosi is a well-known voice actor who has been in TV shows and games such as OK KO! and Octopath Traveler. He voices the character Byleth in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes. Over the last week, allegations arose accusing Niosi of sexual harassment and abuse. Niosi admitted on his personal Tumblr that he had treated people in his life “horribly” and had “abused friends.” His post contains detailed, individual apologies to multiple people, going into some detail about his actions.

Niosi’s voice credit was recently removed from the Fire Emblem Heroes character page, with a new trailer showing voice actor Zach Aguilar instead. In a statement sent to Kotaku, Nintendo confirmed it is removing Niosi from Heroes and Three Houses and re-recording his lines with a new voice actor.

Used to follow the guy on YouTube but eventually unfollowed. Dude's a New Yorker like us. Seemed like a cool enough dude but so many of these people have unresolved issues that they never seem to deal with. Real shame.

Is there any way to view details on other units that don't belong to your house? Trying to figure out who some of these lost items go to and their stats before I ask to recruit.

Much better than Fateswakening in terms of overall presentation. A half step back in terms of early difficulty, but in exchange a much more refined job system and happily doing away with the eugenics simulator.

Someone mentioned shops that sell fishing mats open up? Im in chapter 3 now and don't see it. That may be my biggest gripe atm.

I can see the SMT influence, likely from the team having spent time with #FE. It works well enough that some of these changes can work REALLY well in future installments of the series. I think there should be better tooltips or descriptions for the skills to explain what they do and what they can open up in terms of classes. Heavy Armor is so restrictive, and some houses have little to no reason to pursue some skills (Flying in Black Eagles for example - NOONE sounds like they make a good flyer), that they becomes easy to ignore.

Specifically for Petra in Black Eagles, I get that they're trying to do the foreigner schtick for her, but it doesn't come off as cleanly when she is speaking perfect english. Love the character to death, as she is a beast Myr for me right now (almost always getting str/spd/dex on level), but they could have had her VA use a little more broken or accented english to get the character over. I hope I get the chance to recruit Catherine and Shamir too.

8/10 early for me, and yes it is bordering on the Genealogy levels of darkness right now. That opening cinematic really set a good tone.

The fishing mats is in chapter 4 or 5 IIRC. During your exploration a merchant will offer a quest to clear out some bandits. After you finish the mission you'll have 2 shops available in your town that sell fishing bait/gifts/tea/ingredients.

But yeah it's a great game. My only real complaints are none of the characters outside of house leaders are really interesting, no design choices for MC except gender, and some support convos can really drag on.

FYI, when you start getting paralogue levels (in green on calendar), DON'T ignore them.

They give you some REALLY good gear. Make sure you find the time to do them, and keep note of the expiration date...

Also on this note recruiting more characters will open up more of them. I recruited Dorothea and now have one involving her and Ingrid

Are you able to recruit them if you miss that deadline?

For recruiting from other houses, is it a buildup and then the floodgates open or do you have to time manage to an extent on a case by case basis?

I'm guessing with some stats showing capped at 15 and then skills at C is enough to recruit generally?

JFC, Petra has the best luck in stat ups for me so far. Shes rolling like capped str and spd at lvl 8 as a Myrmidon.

It's a mix of your stats and support level IIRC

You can brute force recruit by getting b supports with everyone. B supports mean they will join you no matter what your stats are.

    False.

B support will generally require around D skill.

And you can't recruit after the mid point (ch 12 -- aka 1 year)

(There's apparently two or three specific characters you can recruit on the second half regardless of what happened on the first half... But idk who or how, story related.)

For me it started as a slow drip (characters I focused on), then the general floodgates opened, then a slow drip for the last few as they required skills I had to get through other professors (armor, mounting...)

Going to spoiler, just in case.

    Spoiler: show
Chapter 4 I think? The dark knight in the tomb before you get the MacGuffin sword for Byleth.

I can sense that he is killable, reappears in 2 chapters, and has a delicious Dark Knight seal for Hubert.

What is the baseline for killing him between skills/gambits?

I was able to get him to about 50% unprepared before I ran out of gambits/horse slayer users. I'm guessing it could be done with slight higher supports for gambit roasting and then Horseslayer him to death.

Also, what in general looks like the better gambits to use? Edelgard (I am assuming all 3 of the main lords) have access to some seemingly good AoE effect damage ones, but I am having a hard time figuring out which do damage and which carry an effect.

Can your class affect weapon growth? For example if I use lance/axe on Thief will I get penalized on raising proficiency?

Anecdotal evidence, because I have Byleth as a spear using Myrmidon right now. It does seem to be growing slowly, but I am only leveling it through combat and not seminars or tutoring.

You can see the skill bonuses classes give when looking at their descriptions. Generally +1 or +2 for relevant skills.

Also, re:spoiler, don't forget thieves can steal.

Waifu Edelgard squad has no thief access at that point.
