Are you talking about the one that paralyzes you? Making the ninjutsu item that gives you para immunity makes the fight way, way easier.

The tutorial for Onmyo and Ninjutsu didn't explain it overly well. You have to unlock the individual spell, but in the bottom right it'll tell you how much capacity you'll need to create and use the items. It's entirely possible to unlock the spell but not have enough capacity to slot it. You can increase capacity with certain skills in the skill window, I think they're both towards the bottom right, as well as by increasing your Magic or Dexterity.
I thought gold was just some poorly balanced currency that you could never possibly run out of, until I started reforging some well rolled gear I had. Shit scales up pretty crazily. To take a lvl 25 item to 43 took 98k gold.
Been messing around a bit with being a visitor. It's kind of fun, but at the same time, I feel guilty for it. I'm not a bad player, but I'm by no means a carrier, nor can I fix stupid. Each time I've been summoned it's been for either Nue or the water boss, and I've yet to be able to see someone through to it's death. They always die from being overly aggressive.![]()
Ninjutsu is kind of useless. There are a few good things like quick change scroll, power pill, galnut/hemlock broths, but the vast majority of it is extremely situational and just a nice but unnecessary bonus. Onmyo, on the other hand, is broken as fuck. Like 70% of the talismans are either just generally useful all the time or can be combined for broken combinations like infinite living weapon. Sloth talisman alone makes boss fights a joke.
If you have some familiarity into a weapon it makes the cost of reforging less.
Also bat bitch is weak to lightning, took me 21 tries to beat her. Made me so grumpy.

Also, you can pick up the Archer garb in the level (at least I did) that has resist paralyze on it. And I got a couple good resist paralyze charms as well

There's an in game monster guide and it looks like most have a resistance to poison. I checked it after beating hino and it says she was weak to lightning.![]()
Huh, didn't know that. I heard someone mention that screen once but I thought they just meant the gameplay record one
Kunai is the best thing you can against flying enemies, even bosses it will knock them out of the air for easy grapples, i feel like ninja skills are very underestimated.
Bat lady was a lot of dodging amd staying away from her until she tried to take combo swings. That's when I got in close and hit her a few times before running back. Strafing and dodging was good enough to avoid paralytic blast. Her death dive sweep takes a lot more precise timing but just as dodgeable.
I didnt know about that enemy state page either and I'm glad it was posted. Is it in the amrita memories section?
The number one difficulty I've had with this game but I'm finally starting to overcome is of an enemy starts hitting you with a combo, block instead of dodge because blocking is actually faster than dodging.
Fuck me, I had been doing so good about never losing my amrita (only twice before tonight) and now I just went full raging tilt against one particular enemy and lost it like 4 more times in a row.
I'm only about 50% through so far but I'm betting my biggest deaths-before-clear number is probably Yuki-Onna. Had a hell of a time with her. Everything else I did in 1-3 or so. Joro-Gumo was psuedo 1-shot -- died once on purpose because I accidentally went in before I finished exploring the rest of the level -- with the crusher (no damage taken) title to boot, Giant Centipede was first try, Onryuki was first try but that hardly counts since I've killed him at least a dozen times in alpha/beta/demo.
Sloth talisman is broken. I was getting bodied by Yuki-Onna on my first try. Ran out of elixirs trying to figure her moveset out and she was still at ~80%. Thought "welp, guess this boss is gonna take a few tries".
Then I remembered I had guardian spirit + 2 sloth talismans and she just died. They're probably gonna have to nerf this at some point, there's no way I should have won that lol.
You can also cancel your blockstun with a dash if you don't run out of stamina, which you might not expect if you're used to Dark Souls. Block 1 hit, then immediately dash away gets you out of most situations. It's also incredibly useful to close in on archers, you can block an arrow then dash towards them almost on the very next frame, easy way to move forward safely.
Anyone know anything about clans? I get that you pick one, get it's buffs, and can trade Glory for items, but I don't know what the clan battles are or what swapping your character skin does. Is this part of the PvP mode that they're adding in and it's just non-existent for now?
Clan battles are just weekly things, randomly divide up teams, whichever side earns the most glory in a week gets some rewards (just more glory i think). Skins just make you look different.
I see, so the skins just change your normal appearance. I thought during the explanation it mentioned they were only used for battles or something, guess I read into the flavor text too much. That's where my confusion came. Didn't see anything too amazing to buy with glory though I guess you could spam the gear for mats/rare exotics.
I looked at the enemy stats and I died more to the first boss than I did to bat lady lol. I apparently had a very hard time adjusting away from Dark Souls with that boss lol. 11times to Oni, 7 to bat.
I just re-spec'd my character. Beat Omi-Zumo and clearing up side quests and decided that I wasn't really happy with the ninjitsu. That, I this time around I looked more closely at soft caps and diminishing returns from stats. The talisman stuff is soooo much more useful than ninjutsu.
Ninjutsu is actually pretty good, it just doesn't have the "set it and forget it" factor that onmyo has. You have to invest in it to get the most out of it.
