Yeah I agree with that. He has to fight for his seat and if he goes so ham to be the one that causes Kavanaugh to go to a tie or even to tip the scales to a yes then he risks losing his base period. If it's already going to be a yes then he can confidently vote whatever way he wants. He'll still piss people off but he won't be the star of "why this happened".

I'll admit I'm less informed on local politicians of other states because I'm overwhelmed with my shit going on in Texas with Beto and Cruz. I also refuse to let go of the Botham Jean situation (honestly every little thing reported just gets me angrier and angrier at the police here). By all means pursue allegations.

Supposedly the survivor has a video that she showed to her son but has refused to show the video to authorities? Apparently the accused gone to the US House of Ethics for this to be resolved. He states that the video can't exist because he's never done it and she claims the video exists but won't show it. Like yo if you have a video of him abusing you, that's the best solid piece of evidence I've ever heard. When asked for the video she has stated this: “You are not entitled to my pain and trauma. You are not entitled to see me getting dragged, when my body is being exposed in more ways than one. This is my trauma, I dealt with the abuse. I have already shared more than I was originally comfortable with.”

It's totally possible to lose something incredibly valuable and important to you. I constantly lose the game disk to Rune Factory Tides of Destiny because I never put it back where it belongs in its case and I pop it in all the time.
I mean it won't help her argument when she says she lost it.

I'd still pursue it and maybe she'll find the video? Trust me I don't want no shitty politicians on any side. (Also this is just my first glance at an article, I haven't done deep dives into it like I have with my own local politicians)

You don't have to "spread it around" though, you could show (not give a copy to) a reporter or investigator without it becoming public.

No you can totally call me out on that. Maybe that's why her witnesses didn't want to be interviewed was because they believed the investigation to be a sham? IDK. Have the Republican side call an investigation as well?

I mean it's similar to R's hiring Rachel Mitchell... I guess, but I doubt dems would take well to this kind of "heading it off at the pass" approach if it were coming from Rs. I honestly zeroed in on the discussion of the tape because apparently there were inconsistencies between the 3 people who viewed the tape. The other two witnesses of the tape declined the interview to discuss the contents of the tape.
IMO though if it's such a problem that you believe the investigation to be a sham then the other party should definitely be allowed to investigate as well. I don't get this halfsies bullshit from either side. It's why I'm wringing shit around my house in anger because I don't get this whole "we aren't talking to all these witnesses" bullshit. How the fuck are you getting information if you won't talk to nobody. lol. God dammit just let the internet locate all this information at this rate.

All I can hope is that somehow the FBI located like a pot of gold of information that will clearly prove/disprove and settle people's concerns cause right now I have 0 confidence lol.

The issue of the video has only caused problems for her accusation thus far.

Her claim would be viewed as more credible if it had never been mentioned, claiming such strong evidence and then perpetually backtracking on it only serves to create doubt on her part.
