I'm hardly in the "everything is your fault for not voting Hill" camp, because nothing is that simple, but this is definitely the most appropriate audience. I don't think I'll ever understand why most dichotomous life choices are treated differently than political representation. Why we're generally able to treat the idea of not getting literally everything we want in a person or thing as perfectly normal and acceptable, but when it comes to our president, should they fail to represent our core beliefs 1:1 they become inherently sinister in nature

it's not naivety it's people being unable to differentiate between getting punched in the arm and getting punched in the testicles, between a papercut and a gunshot wound. as you say in no other facet of life are people so uncomfortable with basic utilitarian thought. a police officer offers you the choice between a ticket and getting locked up, your parents offer you the choice between a cat and a dog, Mass Effect makes you choose between Ashley and Kaiden etc etc. easy choices made easily, only not when it comes to the ostentatious expression of moral values that is modern political colloquy.
